Re: Want to cancel contract early and take out a new contract with Vodafone

I wanna know if and how i can can get out early or upgrade early.

i upgraded to blackberry 9800 torch back in july / august last year and im sure i did a 24 month contract as well, I mainly wanted the upgrade to the blackberry because most of my friends were using them,

but i really could not get on with it and ended using any phone i could get my hands on at the time and i've been using my girlfriends iphone 4s but she is in need of it back, then that leaves me back with a really old basic handset which i cant do email or web surfing on etc.

what to do.

any help thanks Ray

Re: Want to cancel contract early and take out a new contract with Vodafone

Hi there I have about 8 months until I can cancel my contract and to be honest I haven't even been with vodafone 2 years yet and its been the worst time of my life for 1 I'm already on my second phone I had a blackberry bold before but it broke 3 times with software faults so I asked for a torch and they gave it to me about a year into the contact but now on the torch I can't get signal I keep losing it if I walk away from my home address and away from my wireless I can't get bb updates bb messages fb updates or get on the internet and its doing my head in every time I phone they do all these handset checks and all that but its always the same so I asked if I can end my contract and get the iphone 4s but they said I would have to pay but for what I've gone through vodafone are lucky they even get a another penny out of me I'm so disappointed with them its unacceptable for what I've been through and whenever u talk to someone on the team they never help its as if there reading from a script and that's all they can do I get no where and another thing is they always put me through to the branch in Egypt and there the worst people in the world there so rude I'm just so unhappy with vodafone I've really lost faith in them as they never help I just want to end my contract get a new 1 and be happy. Just to add I pay £40 a month to them aswell !! I'm Fuming

thanks

Re: Want to cancel contract early and take out a new contract with Vodafone

Hi heaths11,

Many thanks for bringing this to my attention. It's unfortunate to hear you've not had much luck with your BlackBerry handset. :smileysad:

We'll be happy to look into the options available to you in this case. I've sent you a PM with details on how to contact my team securely to see what we can do. If you could add as much detail as possible, we'll be in touch to sort everything out. :smileywink:

Cheers, Ben

4 months later and no upgrade.....

Hi,

Back in October i sorted an upgrade plan and price pack with you to end my contract early and get the new iphone.

Since then i have received no upgrade and various emails to say you haven't been able to contact me, despite my phone always being on.  Therefore, i took matters into my own hands and went to the vodafone store in Bluewater. After talking to one of the team i was told that the reason for this is because you wouldn't have been able to give me an upgrade until this month, even though previous messages from you suggest differently.  I am absolutely outraged at this service.  I do not understand why i was given misleading information.  Additionally, i was encouraged to send my phone off to get money back on my upgrade back in October.  If i had done this, i would have gone 4 months without a phone.  I would like this resolved asap or i will be going to a different phone provider, as they can offer me a cheaper price plan with NO handset cost, than the one agreed on 4 months ago, as well as no hassle like this!

I look forward to hearing from you.

Re: Want to cancel contract early and take out a new contract with Vodafone

I have 17 months left on my contract and have a widfire s. It's an awful phone.

Could I take out a 12 month contract and pay the £219 for an Iphone 4s and then stack the existing 17 months onto this contract?

I see from the the advice on the second reply on this thread that you could stack to 28months so I would assume that 29 could be a possibility?

Thanks.

Re: Want to cancel contract early and take out a new contract with Vodafone

Hi MrPull,

Each case is judged individually now so we'd need to take a look at your account to see what can be done.

I've sent you a PM with some instructions on how to contact us - pop us an email in and we'll give you a call.

@ Annaaar - I agreed your deal with you in October but lack of stock prevented us from completing your upgrade earlier than normal.

We've got you down for another callback now though so I'm sure we'll get this sorted out :smileyhappy:

Hi Annaaar,

Thanks for posting! As you can imagine, demand for the latest iPhone 4S has been astounding. There are a couple of ways of getting the handset earlier if you're mid contract with your BlackBerry -

1) Pay an early termination fee to remove your remaining commitment. This is calculated as your line rental (minus VAT) multiplied by the number of months remaining on your current agreement. This will effectively 'clock back' your commitment end date allowing you to upgrade immediately to any of our iPhone 4S plans.

2) My team can look at stacking a new contract on top of your existing commitment end date. For example, if you have 10 months remaining on your current deal, we could extend it to a total of 28 months along with any of our 18 month plans.

Either option would also mean that you also keep your current BlackBerry device. Why not consider recycling it to help towards costs using our Vodafone BuyBack Scheme? I've sent an email down to you so once you've decided which route to take, pop a reply back to me and we'll get in touch to action your upgrade. :smileyhappy:

Cheers, Ben

Hello ashlav,

Many thanks for your post about the state of your BlackBerry and upgrading.

Have you considered a Vodafone Repair? That's the least expensive way to sort this out :smileywink:

I can't answer your question about staying on the same price plan and getting an iPhone 4s as I'm not aware of your current plan. If there's a plan that is the same as your current plan then remaining on the tariff would be possible. Check below for our iPhone plans:

iPhone on Vodafone

There is no room for negotiation on the above plans so if there's not one that matches yours then the answer about remaining on the same plan will be 'no' :smileysad:

If you'd still like to talk to us then please check the PM I've sent that you will be able to access here. We will then be able to discuss your options.

Cheers,

Lee

Re: Want to cancel contract early and take out a new contract with Vodafone

Hi mim_je, welcome to the eForum :smileyhappy:

As Lee as said above, it's unlikely you'd be able to stay on your existing plan as the deals are set for both new and existing customers - you'd need to choose one that's closest to your current plan and pay the associated handset cost.

10 months is quite a long time to have left in contract, but we'll see what your options are :smileywink:

I've sent you a PM with some instructions on how to contact us - follow these and we'll give you a call as soon as we can :smileyhappy:

I have a blackberry torch9860 and still have about 21 months left on this contract. To he honest I don't really like the phone and was wondering if there is any chance of me changing phones? For a start my limit of internet isn't enough on here as I'm used to unlimitee where as this isn't. Its not a major issue if I was to go for another phone. Ideally I would like an iphone 4? How would I go about cancelling this one ans transferring to another phone that I want?

Hi danielle

You have 21 months to run on your current contract and it would be much too early to be considered for an upgrade.

You options on getting a new phone whilst in commitment and with so long to go would be very limited.

Your options now would be:

Purchase a new phone at your own expense and carry on using your current contract and try and sell your current phone to recoup some of the cost.

Take out an additional line for a new contract which would mean paying for two contracts.

Cancel you present agreement which would leave you free to negotiate a new contract with an iphone 4.

With 21 months left on your contract which would be very expensive to cancel, you may find the first option would be the cheapest.

If you still wish to cancel, Customer Services will be able to give you the early termination charges.  If you do cancel, put your number on PAYG as a temporary measure, this will prevent you losing the number.

Re: Want to cancel contract early and take out a new contract with Vodafone

Hi, I'm in a similar situation! I currently have 6 months left on my iPhone contract however I would like to upgrade early onto the HTC One X deal at £41 so it's more money then I am paying now! I don't mind putting the extra months on top of the contract! Please could you let me know if this is possible! I have emailed Vodafone however I am yet to get a reply! Please could someone get back to me and let me know or send me an email about how I would go about this if possible! I see that some people have been able to do this.
Thank you!
