Hi,

I want to cancel my contract on my Blackberry phone, which i currently hold with Vodafone, but would like to open a new contract on the iphone 4S which will actually cost more than my current contract.  I am not allowed an upgrade until February 2012, so how much would it cost me to cancel my contract now and are there any deals when taking out a new one?

Hi Annaaar,

Thanks for posting! As you can imagine, demand for the latest iPhone 4S has been astounding. There are a couple of ways of getting the handset earlier if you're mid contract with your BlackBerry -

1) Pay an early termination fee to remove your remaining commitment. This is calculated as your line rental (minus VAT) multiplied by the number of months remaining on your current agreement. This will effectively 'clock back' your commitment end date allowing you to upgrade immediately to any of our iPhone 4S plans.

2) My team can look at stacking a new contract on top of your existing commitment end date. For example, if you have 10 months remaining on your current deal, we could extend it to a total of 28 months along with any of our 18 month plans.

Either option would also mean that you also keep your current BlackBerry device. Why not consider recycling it to help towards costs using our Vodafone BuyBack Scheme? I've sent an email down to you so once you've decided which route to take, pop a reply back to me and we'll get in touch to action your upgrade.

Hi,

Spoke to one of your team and sorted out getting my upgrade within 3-4 weeks, however there is still no sign of it

I have been texted a few times about recycling my old blackberry and getting the money back for it from vodafone, however these messages have stopped, so is that why?

I can't recycle my phone until i get my new iphone 4S

Is there any chance you could please tell me how much longer it will be until i get my upgrade?

I'm also considering a new phone (Blackberry or HTC) but have 10 months left on my current contract. If I decided to cancel, am I correct that on my current £15/month plan, the cancellation fee would be £15 less 20% VAT (so approx £12.50/month) x 10 months, total cost being £125?

If the above is correct, then would it be possible to e-mail me the details of how I could have a new contract "stacked" on top of my existing one.

I am in a similar situation. I have BB and can opt for early upgrade in March online. However there are some great offers on the White Iphone 4s at the minute especially with 3, i am unsure when my contract actually ends, but i have an ipad2 contract with voda also, which i took out earlier this year for 2 years so i dont really want to leave voda but really want to upgrade my phone for iphone 4s, especially since my BB isnt actually working properly.
Can you help/advise at all?
