I took my phone into my local store last week as it was damaged, the man behind the desk then told it was water damaged, it got sent to the repair centre, i got a text this evening saying that is ready to be picked up, i checked the website and it said they were unable to repair my phone, will i get a new one?

No chance, it'll either be a refurb or your original phone in its original state.  Or even possibly a figment of the repair centre's imagination - you'll never know until you collect it.
