calls to Isle of Mann

Why aren't calls to the Isle of Mann included in the 'unlimited calls to landlines' on Total Business/Business Choice tariffs? Should they be included in the internatioanls voice bundles? If so why is it only 12p to call most of Europe, but 30p to call Isle of Mann?

Re: calls to Isle of Mann

Isle Of Man has its own network providers and own mobile network, so is classed by Vodafone (and Ofcom) as a foreign network space to the general British main land cellular network.

If you visited Isle Of Mann you would be roaming on a foreign network, hence calls to them are considered 'international'.

Although, I can't see why they wouldn't be included in the international bundle unless there is a T&C in your contract related to the Isle Of Mann.

Re: calls to Isle of Mann

I have said on another thread that Vodafone have only just started classifying IOM as international (since January). My son lives on IOM and until the new year, calls to his 01624 landline were taken from my inclusive minutes. Whist Ofcom might classify calls to 01624 as international, at least two other UK mobile networks ignore this and charge 01624 from inclusive contract minutes.

Not a good decision Voda. You are now going to loose another customer as soon as my contact is up later in the year. I am completely happy about every other aspect of your service but see this as a chance to make a bit extra from a small percentage of your UK customers.I'll wager that you will loose more than you gain from your decision to charge 01624 separately from last January. There are at least two other Voda pay monthly users I know who feel exactly the same way.

PS to other readers of this forum, do not confuse this issue with roaming. It is about making a call to the 01624 landline code from within the UK.
