Re: direct debit

I think it will probably still be taken on the 7th, & the change will take place with the next bill produced, given the short time scale, I would call 191 and ask for the collections department to be doubly sure how it has been set

Re: direct debit

It takes roughly 14 days to set up a new direct debit instruction. So best thing to do is cancel direct debit with the bank on the old card to stop bank charges etc. If the new direct debit it set up thats fine, you will need to manually call up on the 7th and pay by card.
This is typically the procedure for this.

Re: direct debit

it depends on when your paying it. if ur goign to pay the balance off before your next bill is produced then it wont be taken twice. if the bill is produced then u pay it, it will probbly come out direct debit again.

Re: direct debit

I would be almost certain if you have made an arrangment to pay, then you will call them up and manually pay, in next few days, and then direct debit will be  back in place for next bill cycle,, as Ross said its best just to be doubly certain to cancel your old direct debit mandate with your bank to eliminate any issue with the "old one",   After this one is out the way I am sure it will go back to being easier every month, good luck
