early upgrade help

hello, i have been a loyal customer with vodafone for 7 years paid my bills on time and never had any issues, recently i decided to upgrade on a plan only basis on my blackberry curve for £15 for 12 months but due to the new smart phones coming out and the blackberry becoming outdated i hoped to upgrade to the samsung galaxy s2, however the fee to upgrade to this phone is £95 as i checked for new customers on the £41 a month on 18 months the phone is free. I am confused because if i want to upgrade to the new i phone the fee is £55. I can understand paying a fee if i had upgraded to a new phone but it was plan only so thought it would be benefit to vodafone to tie me up to another contract paying more on the monthly fee, as i am paying £15 a month just now.
any advice or help is more than welcome.
Regards
Mark

Hi Mark, Welcome to the forum!
This is certainly an interesting dilema. I'm suprised Vodafone don't want to let you upgrade. Have you spoken to anybody about this or have you just used the online upgrade tool?
I would recomment you check out @vodafoneukdeals on twitter. They specialise in upgrades and new lines so if anybody will be able to sort you out with your new phone it's going to be them! Only thing i will mention is that they are a small team and tend to be very busy so they may take a day or so to respond, i'm sure it wil be worth the wait though!

Hi suibhne,
I’d love to see if we can help you get an early upgrade. Thanks to Nabs for that help. We’re the Twitter team too.![]()
An email is on its way to you. Just reply with the information I’ve requested and we’ll be in touch.
We’re a small team and are very busy at the moment. Don’t be concerned if it takes a couple of days for us to get in touch once you’ve sent the email.
Let me take this opportunity to show you how Vodafone like to say thank you; take a look at VIP.
Cheers
Ian
