seems 02 customers also having this issue. would appear that the sim hasnt yet beenactivated. give it 24 hours and you should be ok

Welcome to the forum.  That error message means that the SIM card hasn't been activated.  If you bought it instore, they should have activated it for you, but if it was bought online, the SIM will ship in an inactive state for security reasons. If you are still having issues, you can activate the SIM online through My Account (if it is a upgrade) or by calling 191 from any Vodafone handset and 08700 700 191 from any UK phone.  You can also make a quick trip back to the Vodafone Store you bought the phone at.

but befoe yesterday everythink worked fine

i've tried to transfer my old number on to my new phone some bloke told me to switch my new handset off for 2 hours. After 2.5 hours switched my device on and that message came out.

You didn't mention that you were transferring a number. Is the old number still connected to the network? It can take a little while to transfer a number from one SIM card to another. Has the new SIM card actually been activated?

must have been because it has been working from saturday to tuesday. than i ring your customer service and its gone

 

the story is

 

1.i had a contract with you since april 2011

2. i signed new contract last saturday

3. i ring customer service to cancel my previous contract but wanted to keep my old number

one of advisors told me that to do that my old number needs to go as a pay as you go one than she asked me to ring them sunday to carry on with my request

4 i ring back sunday and another advisor took long number of my sim old sim card and said that number will be transfered by tuesday

 

my new handset worked fine by then.

 

5. i ring customer service again on tuesday because nothing happened

they send me to departude department where i've been told to switch my new handset off for aprox 2 hours

after 2.5 hours like i said i switchd on my new handset and only think i can see is message that sim not provisioned mm2 error

yes the old number is still connected but the new one has gone.
