HELP! Im currently applying for a mortgage and unknown to me there is a Vodafone balance on there. Must be from an old account as the date is May 2013.  Its £90 and i just want to get it cleared off. Ive spoken to numerous agents on live chat who were useless to say the least!...i cant call up as you are required to put in mobile/account number which i done have. Really dont know what else to do and need to get this sorted ASAP.

It depends whether the Vodafone Social Media Teams via the Credit File Specialist Teams find the default warranted or not @anaramona

If they find it wasn't warranted then they'll arrange to have the default removed which takes around 30 days,

If they find the default warranted then it'll remain in place.

A Notice of Correction puts a note on your Credit File explaining why you think the default isn't warranted, however Experian will only agree for this to be placed if the default definitely isn't warranted.

Hi Alex,

I have an old bill of 600 and something pounds that I wasn't aware of. Can you please please look into that for me? How can I get in touch with someone from your department? Thank you

Hi Alex, I'm having the same problem! My outstanding debt is £80 something from a previous address. I wasn't aware until today when my credit score app showed a notification

Something suspect going on here. I closed my account believing everything to be settled. Next thing I know I have a £90 bill from Vodafone showing on my credit score. No web chat or call agent can help me beyond apparently confirming I owe Vodafone this. Why didn't I for the first few years after closing the account and how do I get this resolved? Thanks

A common reason for an unexpected outstanding amout on a closed account is cancelling a direct debit before the final bill has been paid.   If you drop a note to the Social Media team on Facebook or Twitter, they'll be able to get this escalated and resolved for you.   The Credit File Support team can also amend your credit file if that's apporpriate (and you can make your case, so ask).
