Judging by the posts in here, it is clear that no-one has ever owned a modern Motorola phone... I had an Atrix before my GS2 and the upgrades for that were a nightamare

ICS will come at some point, and as far as I can see it will me a minor upgrade!

most of the people moaning that it's not here are the people who know the difference as they didn't just buy the s2 because they "thought it was cool and everyone's got one" that's what the iPhone it's for.

And regarding people moaning about it when it comes out, of course they will, they're suppose to. ics is 4.0, which means there have been many versions before now, people have moaned and then it's been fixed. That's how an open source os like Android evolves!

But it has Touch wiz on so the desktop looks the same

The s3 is rumoured to have a swtchable to stock option

The reason there is nothing useful is because its not ready to be launched...neither O2, t-mobile or orange have released anything other than vague timetables of "soon"....read the other thread...its not like they are keeping it from u purpose... (then again maybe they are as its a huge conspiracy across the worlds mobile networks to have a little fun...)

I've connected my phone to Kies on at least 10 occasions this morning, to which it won't connect at all.

Could this have anything to do with an imminent update?

@gooner56637 its more likely a connection issue with your phone and kies, try rebooting both. I can connect fine today, there are some occasions where it wont connect at all, this is normal unfortunately!

Answer: try restarting your phone as had this same issue yesterday. after restarting my phone it worked first time.

From experience, Vodafone is not in a rush releasing ICS - just see how long it took to fix a simple GPS issue that hundreds of users were experiencing. We're at at page 7 on this thread ..expect this to grow to 20 before we have the good news

Out of interest, when this update is released, will it be possible to update over wifi as I do not have a computer let alone a computer with kies.

You will need a PC with Kies and a USB cable attached to your phone. The update is not available OTA.

Non Vodafone Handset  XEU

(Carphone warehouse and outhers) Need Kies and a PC

Vodafone handsets  are done OTA Over the Air  you need a wifi connection for that not 3G 

(Kies will not offer you the update )
