@a_ukboy that's right. Tomorrow at the earliest via Kies and Tuesday 17/04 via OTA.

I understand how these latest delays are beyond vodafone's control, and I really appreciate Tom keeping us up to date on the matter.
However Vodafone (the company as a whole, not the customer relations team) have kind of brought this on themselves by insisting on customising and branding Samsung's software release (who are in turn guilty of doing the same thing to Google's release!). I can't imagine anyone would be unhappy if Vodafone pushed out the original version of the software as soon as it became available. Any special vodafone apps could be downloaded from the Play store - vodafone could even send a text or email to customers who have recently upgraded promoting these apps if they wished.
When Apple updates iOS vodafone customers get it straight away, I wish it could be the same for us. Oh well that's life as an Android user I suppose!

Imagine a world in which one day you check your phone to find a message saying that an update is available over the air for your phone's OS. You click on update, it downloads and you're done.
Just imagine that.

Yep thats the 2.3.3 version of Vodafones Official Rom.
When it's installed you will need to check that the CSC has been changed by opening the dialer
and typing: *#1234# it should show I9100VODKE2.
but that doesn't mean the actual CSC has been changed only the Firmware CSC.
When coming from a multi CSC Rom like your sons it's best to double check the device CSC has been changed.
To check the Device CSC open the dialer and type: *#272*imei#* it should show only VOD.
I always apply it anyway just to make sure. The phone will Factory Reset.

@tonytango
Yes its a One file flash.
Click on PDA button browse to where the .tar file is located and add it.
Don't change any other settings.
Can I confirm you are using Odin Ver.1.83.exe?
- charge phone to 100%
- Factory Reset
- Open Odin3 ver1.83
- Click on PDA button add .tar file
- Put Phone into Download Mode
- connect phone to PC (allow any windows drivers to install if first time using Odin)
- Click START
- DO NOT DISCONNECT THE PHONE UNTIL THE HOME SCREEN IS DISPLAYED AGAIN
- Quickly skip through setup
- Factory reset again

^ ^ I have an app called My Backup Pro. Easy to find on Google
. It gives you the option of what you want to backup, I've backed up all my apps, media, contacts etc etc. Hopefully (I've not tried it) it does back up all the applications installation files to make it an easy 'restore' should I need it.
On another note.. I really can't understand how people are getting so stressed over what is just a software update for a mobile phone.. Surely people have got more important things going on in their lives than to sit behind their screen & moan at VF about this release? Or have I missed the point? We get it when we get it, there's nothing hard about that to understand. It's not a race of who gets what firmware first.. Is it?
I for one won't be jumping in at the deep end the second it arrives OTA, I'll wait.. Probably for those who keep complaining at where the update is, they'll be the first ones to kick up a fuss if it's not super sleek, if it's full of bloatware, buggy etc..
Calm down folks, it's just a phone, grab yourselves a beer in the meantime
.

You game data is stored on your SD under the Android folder then data that can be copied and pasted in and out
But i don't no about that app your using you may find it in the same folder
Games work ok but not sure on the app i would drop the developer of the app a quick email and ask them if its possible he may have a better way
As long as you make sure the data is in the same place they should be fine

I'm on Vodafone but got the phone from Carphone Warehouse. I've just connected to Kies on my Mac and it says my FW is:
PDA: KI4 / PHONE:KI1 / CSC:KH1 (CPW)
Does that mean I can update tomorrow through Kies with this vodafone FW update? If not what update should I expect to get to ICS
Thanks for any tips
