Yeah, just wanted to know if there was an auto-search for new firmware, or some kind of refresh button. Kies doesn't seem to always notice that my device is plugged in, even though my computer does. safer to just keep it in for the time being.
I've enabled auto-download now, but there doesn't seem to be any listings in the box underneath? I would have assumed that my phone would be in that list so that I could tick it to enabme? Or would nothing show up until there is an update available?
Picture included.
Thanks.

I have a similar issue, but the firmware does see A phone when its pluged in, but doesn't recognise the model or anything. Just shows a picture of a phone with no name.
Keep plugging it in to KIES, as I'm trying to get it upgraded before i leave for the weekend...![]()

I have the same problem... Its crazy. Doesn't help that I've never used Kies before, I only downloaded it to get ICS before I go away! Supposedly it's released, but I haven't heard of anyone that's got it yet so manybe its still uploading to the servers?

IMHO this is how it should be - it stops anyone grabbing hold of your phone and getting at its content without knowking the pin number

Could be a Java issue. Might be worth making sure you've got the latest version of Java installed?

Out of interest, has anyone actually received the update yet? Kies is doing its usual "this is the latest firmware" trick yet there seem to be many reports online stating the update is available.
Before the grump police start jumping on their soap boxes, I'm not being inpatient, I'm simply asking a question... that's one of the purposes of a forum...

Nothing for me yet either.
Somebody earlier said that releases are staggered? What does that even mean?

Reave - it means that it doesn't become available to everyone at the same time. This can be done for network bandwidth reasons or to ensure if there is an issue, the impact is mitigated.
If this is a Kies only update I'm not sure they'd stagger it though. The vast, vast majority of S2 users won't be like the ones on this forum, connecting every 5 minutes to see if it is available yet. They'll simply wait to be told.

phils1982 - as frustrating as it is, in the time it takes a global company to get an official statement signed off and released they'll probably have fixed any problems they have.
They will only release an official statement if and when they know exactly what the problem is, how they're going to fix it and when it will be fixed. At the moment they're probably working through kinks and unknowns.

thought I did have the latest version, just to be sure I uninstalled both 32 and 64 bit versions and reinstalled. Same issue. Something to do with 64bit?
