Charging Stopped Voltage too High. Not even connected to Charger!

My phone is saying its charging when it isn't.
I regularly get "Charging Stopped Voltage too High" when the phone isn't connected.
I have tried a different battery.
I have read up on the internet and some people say that moving the USB pin helps, which it does! for about 10 seconds![]()
I phoned support yesterday and they asked me to factory restore my phone. Which I have done. And within seconds it was doing it again.
My main worry is that I'm off to the USA in 13 days and I am depending on being able to take my SII.
Has anyone else had this and if so is the only way to get it sorted by sending it off for repair, which by past experience takes a fair few days.
Any help will be appreciated

Thanks, yes, looking around on the internet there seems to be many theories (ICS, faulty USB, Battery, Chargers) I took it in to a Vodafone store today to get it sent away. Fingers crossed I will have it before I go away.

Hi HardyRexion,
Thanks for keeping this thread updated. I'm glad to hear you've managed to arrange a repair under the warranty in store. Ideally, I know the turn around target is 7-10 days so fingers crossed they have your phone back with you before you pop off abroad. Would you be able to let me know the outcome on this one as I'm keen to find out what happens and it will help any other customers in a similar situation to yourself with advice. ![]()
Cheers, Ben

OK,
I now have my phone back and they have changed the USB port. This SEEMS to be ok (only had it a few hours)
However,
They also reset the phone and it now has vodafone BLOATWARE
WTF? This phone was unlocked and shipped with no Vodafone branding. I have uninstalled a few apps that I can the rest won't allow it.
Is there a simple of way of removing this software without rooting? I am not impressed with this at all.
