Galaxy S2 - First Steps

Hello all,

I have the Galaxy S2, and before I get to grips with it all, I was wondering what I should be doing "updates" wise.

I've seen a few threads talking about ROOT and KIES, none of which makes much sense to me. Are updates done automatically, or should I be doing something myself.

Ta.

Re: Galaxy S2 - First Steps

Hi,

"Samsung Kies" is the desktop software from Samsung that lets you manage your phone and its contents and you can find it from www.samsung.com/uk/support

Once you've installed Kies, run it, and connected your phone, you'll see the phone model appear on the upper left (GT-I9100) and you can click on that to see the current firmware version and whether there is a newer firmware available.

If there is a newer version, the Kies software will guide you through the upgrade process.

Cheers

Steve
