Galaxy S2 & Vodafone Sat Nav problem...

Hi, new customer here just getting to grips with the S2. I've subscribed to the Vodafone Sat Nav service, & have just received an SMS from Vodafone specifying a link to follow to set up Sat Nav. No prizes for guessing, the link doesn't work... http://live.vodafone.co.uk/zr/maps
Any thoughts on how I get this set up? Cheers.

I'm with Northern-DJ.
The Google Maps and Co-Pilot are OK and by the time you've spent £60.00 per year on Voda Sat Nav you could have bought one!
Sometimes the simple answer is overlooked because it's technology that's complicated!

There is also another free satnav available to SGS2 users, not sure if it's available for the SGS. In Samsung apps look for an app called Waze. I've installed it and it seems ok, only used it a couple of times but I'm sure it's worth a look, espcially as it's free ![]()

I have the same problem, but having phoned 'customer support' I was first told that it was free (not £2.50) and passed to someone else to get it activated. That worthy then told me that the Galaxy S2 DOESN'T SUPPORT SATELLITE NAVIGATION AT ALL. As one of the reasons I got the S2 was because it has sat nav, I have to wonder why this person knew nothing about it.
Has Vodafone 'farmed out' its support? Or is it a simple lack of training?
Since I started the upgrade process on Nov 30, I have had more porblems than the previous 7 years. I have to say I'm close to sending the phone back (the sat nav thing isn't the only problem I've had, but the only one with the phone, which is great) and going elsewhere. Yes, the support has been that bad. I've gone from highly satisfied to on th epoint of going elsewhere. Maybe the future is bright.....
Oh, and I had Google maps on my last phone and it needed a data connection, which is way I went for the add on option.

In the previous problem I was involved with, the help from the guys (and gals?) on this forum was certainly what got the job done in the end. With all due respect to the people I spoke to on the phone in support, and the online chat thing, they might as well not exist at all - they were literally worse than useless I'm afraid. At various points I was told that the SGS2 doesn't have GPS (it does), that I need to reinstall Google Maps to get GPS working (you don't), that it won't work without a mobile signal (it does), that it's not their problem (it is), and various other nonsense.
I'll certainly use this forum for any future support requests, as it seems to have techs who understand and are eventually able to help - even then, the flow of information could be improved.

DON NOT PUT THE TELMAP ON
If you look at the permissions its got spyware on or can be used to get your details !!!
Yes Google map does need a data connection but that is changing soon and you will be able to down load them
But you can get most mainstream sat nave other then Tom Tom on the phone
Google and Copilot were rated the best CoPilot you down load the map and its a one off payment and that's it and the voice's are proper ones
I'm checking the beta version as we speak
I can agree with you on the Off shore support but were here and we fill in were they have no idea on I'm a Galaxy s user and believe me I have had it all
I can not apologize for them, and will not the eforum team are heaps bettert and i hope they will take a look at this for you as it sound like you have been sold somthing that should not of been added
Now the only refrance i can find is
http://www.vodafone.co.uk/personal/apps-and-downlo
If that is what youe supposed to have
But if its sat Nav CoPilot at £22.49 is probs the best app you will buy oh don't get the premium version is a bit complicated
