My new Galaxy S2 is due to arrive today from Vodafone
I have just seen on the Orange site that this phone does not support Wi-Fi, is this network dependent or the phone can not connect to Wi-Fi.
I suppose my question is will my new phone work on BT Openzone as my tarriff gives me 1Gb of Wi-Fi?

Hi,
Looking at the specs on Vodafone's site (under features) and GSM Arena it lists it as having wifi.

The phone will not work with BTopenzone this is a iphone only promotion
check out
http://www.vodafone.co.uk/personal/mobile-internet
there is no support for Android devices
But if you are a Bt customer use the BT fon app and you can use the hotspots but this has nothing to do with Vodafone, we have had this on the SGS and Vodafone confirmed it was a Iphone only Promo

Can someone from the E-forum team please answer the following,
Will my new Samsung Galaxy S2 work with the bundled 'free' BTOpenzone Wi-Fi that was sold to me as part of my upgrade
Our valued contributor, Northern-dj, says it does not. If this is true why are all the £26 pm tariffs being sold with it.
Could somebody from Vodafone comment ASAP please

Hi there Malcolm142,
Many thanks for your posts regarding using BT Openzone WiFi hotspots with your Samsung Galaxy S II.
Northern DJ has pointed you to a response from a member of our team indicating this not to be compatible. This post was made in November and business rules change and this limitation is no longer handset specific. If it's enabled as part of your plan then there should be no problem using the feature.
Are you having problems logging in to a BT Openzone hotspot?
If you follow the link to our BT Openzone Help pages there's information on what you need to do to activate this feature ![]()
Cheers,
Lee

Yet all the help options are still for setting up a Iphone!!!!
No mention or help to Android users ( Not Good that !!!!)
So Lee for the benifit of all Android users can they have some instrutions on how to set this up. And yes the post was back in november and your sales team said the same to me as well when i got my phone.
If this is the case that Vodafone have sorted this, in the Galaxy s2 support section then some instructions are need in there, And as clearly this sounds like it has not been sorted something needs to be looked in to.
This is the secound time this has come up.
