Hi Guys,

Before you start updating your Phone with Kies, make sure you have...

"Latest Firmware Auto Download" enabled...!

This will make sure that the new Firmware is downloaded before it starts transferring it to your Phone!

After mine failed the first time, despite this being ticked it has started downloading it again (very slowly) from the beginning.  Is there likely to be someting wrong here?

Downloading to pc or to your phone? Mine downloaded to pc fine but failed to after that.

Kies only holds the Download in a Temp Folder while the process is active. So if the transfer is incomplete, Kies will start the whole process again.

The pre-download is simply in case there was a loss of signal during transfer. By downloading first, it aims to stop errors.

USB connection errors are a different thing again I'm afraid.

If its not ticked it tries to update as its going this is were it can fall over

Some people download it on a laptop via wifi

so the phone gets stuck

it just takes the download bit out of the problem, just in case samsung has any problems as well
