Following all this, I telephoned Samsung and I was extremely impressed by how professionally they handled my problem. Next day, a pre paid insured special delivery envelope and a padded envelope to put the phone in, arrived. I took it to the post office today. It is going back to a repair centre nearby and they say it can be up to ten days, but considering their application to the situation so far, I have high hopes it will be a shorter delay. I have mentioned in my letter that I would appreciate it if the new op system is on the phone when I get it back, as I really don't want to go through this nightmare again.

They should of given you a ref number, you cacn ring UK customer service to track it

@soxer, mine went using the same mechanism yesterday to Birmingham. I phone up the number Samsung gave me for them and got a terribly unhelpful lady who said they hadn't received the post. This was at 3pm (the special delivery is a guaranteed pre 1 pm). Told me to ring back on Monday. So a good start, now could be better... Let's see what Monday brings...

Track the parcel with the post office they will tell you if they have it or not

Yeps the parcel got delivered but after royal mail delivered a £1200 lens to my work address, faked a signature for special delivery and left it unattended i've not trusted that completely since!

Update: mine is marked as dispatched according to the Samsung support site. Personally found the information from ringing the repairers themselves very disappointing. Hopefully I'll get it back tomorrow... And it's my phone, not damaged, the battery is there, etc etc lol
