PROBLEMS CONNECTING MY S2 TO LAPTOP

My S2 has developed a problem where I cannot download my pictures to my laptop.

Up until recently I would connect to the laptop and had a choice of connecting via Kies or importing the pictures via windows live photo gallery, either way the pictures downloaded straight away.

Recently the phone will not connect at all or connects and the message on the screen tells me there are no pictures or videos on the device.

Also when I check if the device is connected via  "My Computer" it seems to connect , then disconnect, then connect, then disconnect etc.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: PROBLEMS CONNECTING MY S2 TO LAPTOP

This could be a number of problems

that need to be eliminated

Firstly the phones does it work on another computer, if it does then its a problem on your laptop

If it does not work on another pc then it could be the cable or the phone

Now you can transfer your pics in mass storage mode, in settings wirless and networks usb settings change to mass storage and there in a fold called DCIM

No this will test the Drivers as well on your lap top

You can try and reinstall the drivers

Open device manager on your laptop this is in control panel now plug the phone in and the screen will change now you should see this under external devices or mobile devices but you should see your model of phone, Right click and un install

Unplug the phone wait 10 secounds now plug phone back in and windows should re install the drivers

If not in the option at the top do a scan for changes and it will start again

Now this only fixes the windows side of things, you may still have to do a  driver recovery in kies to sort that out

Re: PROBLEMS CONNECTING MY S2 TO LAPTOP

SORTED.

It was the same on 3 different computers with 3 different leads .

Anyway it worked by going into settings, wireless and networks, USB Utilities and downloaded them that way no problem.

Thank you very much indeed, excellent service as always.

Cheers Paul
