Trying to get the elusive ICS onto phone.

Phone firmware is outdated by the looks of it and I cannot get the new firmware updated.

I have Kies 2 that will recognise my phone but I get a message saying "firmware not available via Kies" try ota or samsung service centre. 

No sign of ICS update either via OTA or Kies 

I have a Huwaei phone that is at a better state of android software (2.3.5) than my super dooper S2 which is at android version 2.3.3

Should never have left the world of HTC and T Mobile.

Just off phone to vodafone customer services and have been told that they do not support software/firmware update problems it is a Samsung issue.

This really winds me up! I got told exactly the same after problems updating to 2.3.5 and my handset was only 3 weeks old. But why did they delay the update to ICS? Because they were doing the testing to ensure it works properly with the Vodafone network, so how can they say they're not going to support it???

Let's have a look and see what firmware on what carrier you have.

If you go into dialer type *#1234# and then see what code is on the CSC line.

It should read something like I9100VODBUK3?

You will learn to use this forum instead of speaking to vodafone cs!! They are not all bad but finding the good ones is hard. The forum mods here are first class.....but they are very busy!!

On a side note you cam always use odin and flash the vodafone (or any other) ics firmware. Take a look around here there are some guides on here( soupdragon has a guide)
