SGS2 Going Crazy....

Ok so I've had the SGS2 a few months now and love it, but today it seems to have gone crazy....
Initially, the Vlingo Voice Assistant Screen comes up of it's own accord (whilst my phone is sitting on my desk doing nothing) so I exit and it comes back! I don't use the Voice Assistant so ended up uninstalling Vlingo, thinking that would solve the problem.
How wrong I was! Now, the clock opens by itself and it goes into 'MTP Mode' and the battery symbol indicates the phone is charging, even when it's not!
This is really draining my battery as well as my patience,
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Adam Marriott

Hi Soup Dragon,
I've done the one where youturn off then hold volume up, home and and power on, scroll down to factory reset - is this the same?
Thanks

@ACJMY2K10
Hi,
No that is a SOFT Reset, as it does not wipe the internal SDcard. Whereas the Dialer technique does a FULL Hard Reset.
I cannot guarantee that it will rectify your problem, but it will be the first thing a repair centre will do and then send it back to you.
So by doing this you can rule out Firmware, and move on to possible Hardware issues!
just saw _365_'s suggestion, give that a try as well.
We can guide you through flashing Firmware if needed.

Right cheers, will try this whejn I get in tonight. I've just used a can of compressed air to flush out the USB port, but nothing visible came out (that's not to say there weren't microscopic bits of crap in there of course)
Will let you know how I get on, thanks for the help so far ![]()

Hmmm might try that instead then. Happily it seems to be ok now (strangely) when I turned it back on after the hard reset vlingo came up twice so I exited it, closed all tasks in the task manager and cleared processes from the RAM and *fingers crossed* it's not gone mental for a couple hours.....
Will see how it is over the weekend then if it buggers up again I'll go to the Samsung Centre.
Thanks for your help guys ![]()

No if you look again Carphone warehouse shows up as there dealers look for another if your struggling
Angel Mobile in bradford will take a look but you will have to send it to them or take a drive down the M62
I spoke to them this morning on another matter, he said it does need the firmware re flashing and a re partion
But there is one in Manchester
Make sure in the drop down you pick service centre and not dealers it should offer you four or five
Even if you have to post to a service centre there much faster at repairing one high ranking memeber sent his phone in after he completely bricked it with a custom rom and was repaired under warrenty
as stated if you have insurance you will get a basic phone
But if the phone has been damaged dropped or they find any damage they Charge £100 for the repair
