Hey guys,
after so long waiting for the phone you may start to receive your phone this week. I receive an e-mail from Vodafone with Samsung Galaxy S2 poster almost an hour ago saying the phone is available to buy online as I receive a call this afternoon as well from Vodafone deals team for the same matter.
From tomorrow most of you will start to show the lovely smile when the phone get to your places, for me it will still another hard 3 weeks until the NFC version comes to UK. Unfortunately I decided to go to the hard way by waiting longer for my upgrade, since I've been waiting from March.
I could give up and accepted the phone as anyone else for this week, but I want the top of the top. Not mention not all places has NFC capabilities but what you can do is well good enough, not just paying but all other functions you can do with it.
So good luck chaps and I will expected that next month only if Vodafone doesn't make any mistake implementing new stuff on the new version.
King

I ordered 10th May and have not heard anything. I have called customer services several times and get different responses every time. Not once have they said there in stock even though ive told them most of people on here have tracking numbers for them.
They charged me £30 for the phone which they have taken plus the £5 a month to £40 a month contract is in place.
I am getting VERY annoyed by this. I have 3 other contracts with vodafone totalling around £180 a month, all these will be cancelled if they dont sort this out asap.

Just called 191 - was on hold for about 10 minutes, and spoke to an extremely helpful chap - I preordered on 4th May, and my phone is on it's way via Parcelforce, to arrive tomorrow!
I asked if they had had many queries about SG II delivery - he said yes, but more so the iPhone 4 White, where the stock has been snapped up (no accounting for taste!)
The very helpful chap said that the best thing to do is to speak directly to Upgrades (option 3) and/or ask for an account manager, as Vodafone are trying to sort out the problem of misinformation... he said speaking to an account manager means they will try and find out a solid answer for you instead of someone in CS guessing or assuming! Upgrades can now see status of Web Orders (which mine was - via online upgrade) but if there are any problems, they have to speak to the Web team for you - which he did. Mine had a note saying "Hardware registration failed" - but what that meant was, as it was an Upgrade there was no need for a new SIM! ![]()
I know it's frustrating getting fed duff info, but this is the first and only call I've made to VF thus far regarding my upgrade, and I have the info I want straight away. However, no idea why I haven't had a text or email confirmation... but never mind!

Oh and - just got the automated call back for customer service survey - 10/10 for this chap. Did everything I asked and was professional. There are good eggs in VF! ![]()
PS. I remember similar issues with stock with the N900 when I upgraded to that in January 2010!!

Right now, I'm really POed as I phoned Vodafone CS around an hour ago and kept getting pushed from pillar to bloody post to various departments and I had the misfortune to speak to a really rude lady called Jennifer in Customer Services (that's an understatement if there ever is one!) and supposedly there's no stock of the phone and to make matters worse, supposedly the offer I got from Retentions including the half price 0800/0870/0845 Add-On, it seems that there isn't a discount on said Add-On which has ###### me off even more which is why I'm going to give the manager who's supposedly going to call me a piece of my damn mind!
I find it bloody ridiculous that people who can place an order today over the phone as new customers can get theirs sent out same day or next day and yet those who got placed on a callback list or preordered online and who also got callbacks from Retentions are getting shafted!
To make matters worse, I still haven't received my phonecall from Mr Laurence's office so I'll definitely be emailing him again to express my displeasure and to tell him that after this particular contract is over, I'll NEVER stay with Vodafone and instead buy a SIM-Free phone and buy a PAYG Sim from Three!!!
medwayview, you definitely have my support in mailing this thread to 'You and Yours' as well as the MD of Vodafone, although you should send a copy to the people on BBC's 'Watchdog' as well to see if they can do a report on this.
Never has the phrase "Fool me once, shame on me! Fool me twice, shame on you!" never been so true! Vodafone has taken all us loyal customers, especially the ones who've been with them for 10+ years for mugs! Well one thing's certain, I for one am sick and tired of being treated as a second-class customer and I know a lot of the people on this thread are feeling the same.
I say we let Mr Laurence know how we really feel about his company and show him no mercy!

My tracking number also works and it's the Express24 service, according to tracking details the parcel was "collected from customer" at 3:21pm today. meaning I should have it tomorrow. I just emailed parcelforce to see if I can have it delivered to my work address instead home address, hope they'll do that, seeing as my work is only a minute drive from my house. Haven't had a text or email yet btw.
All this after being through the loops with CS for good 3 hours today. In the end I was really close to cancelling because my local P4U store had one Galaxy S2 in stock with the same tarrif as the one I'm getting from Vodafone. I only got my tracking number after asking to cancel my contract, they suddenly could confirm that my order is ready for despatch today. Guys, do your best on the phone tomorrow, call them, explain the situation. Don't be rude of course.
BTW I ordered my over the phone on the 5th of may but for some reason it was an online order (not sure how they work...).

Am I doing something wrong on the DPD website? It just keeps telling me my search returned no results.
Crikey, their website is almost as terrible as Vf's customer service. Try finding an actual phone number to call!
Aaagh.

Well, I just called DPD's automated phone line and there was nothing to show from either my tracking number or my mobile number.
I think I'm going to have a giant voddy, a bath and an early night.
Good luck, all!

I did it dead on 8pm as Vampfy suggested. I put my parcel number into the tracking part and clicked next. Make sure it goes into the parcel number part and not consignment number that is the mistake I made at first lol

Update:
OK after pre-ordering and then being informed that my order was cancelled on 13th May, I've now been reassured that my order is definitely still on and delivery will be tomorrow.
What I did notice is that there is definitely 2 camps of advisors at VF:
1. Customer Services - you will notice a lot of background noise when you speak with these guys
2. Account Management - no background noise
The CS team don't seem to have anywhere near adequate information, they both appear to be reading off completely different databases - I can only assume that this is the cause of all the anxiety people are clearly going through on this forums.
After speaking with Acc Management, it appears that my phone was actually sent today (5.30pm) with Parcel Force under Express AM delivery for tomorrow. I have the tracking number. I would suggest that you all speak directly to Account Management Thursday morning if possible to confirm if you order has dispatched or not (CS really do not have the right info in front of them). In fact as I write this I've just received an email confirming dispatch.
For the trouble and misinformation I received 1 and a half months free line rental.
