Re: Upgrade due - Galaxy S2

Dear Vodafone,

I have been a Vodafone customer for years – I’ve had the same handset and tariff for at least four years now and I know that I’m paying way above the odds for what I receive. Partly it’s sheer laziness on my part. I have been called regarding upgrades in the past but I’ve never entertained any of the mediocre deals that I’ve been offered. I have had some problems with Vodafone in the past (which will, I’m sure, be logged in my record somewhere) but I have a strange loyalty complex. However, I am moving this week and I think it’s time to do something about it. I don’t currently use my phone to access the internet, nor do I know that I would use it very much, but this seems to be the way things are going, so maybe it’s time to get a smart phone?

Currently my tariff is Anytime 125 (Stop the Clock) + 1000 texts for £25.54 per month. I know this is not very good – I have family with Vodafone who get similar or better rates for less money per month. I know people who get internet access included for less per month. I’ve tried to work out what exactly I need and I think (if we ignore calls made to business numbers which you have to pay for no matter what your tariff) I genuinely spend less than £10 per month. I send a reasonable amount of texts (though not hundreds) and I make phone calls from time to time when I need to, though not usually for long periods of time. What is important, however, is that I have free minutes that can be made to any phone number including other mobile networks at any time of the day.  The more free texts included the better.

If I’m to not use a smart phone, I can’t see any reason why I should spend more than £10 per month. With included data, who knows?  Possibly pay-as-you-go would be my best option. Three have “All you can eat” data with 300 minutes and 3000 texts on pay as you go for £15 per month – this seems ideal to me. If Vodafone would like to keep me as a customer and can offer me something along these lines, I’d like to hear from you. I have no qualms about signing a contract, so this is an easy sell if you offer me the right deal. I’d prefer 12 months but I’m open to negotiation if this is what you want. General opinion seems to be that the Samsung Galaxy S2 is the best phone currently available, and as I am a Samsung user, this is my preferred handset.

This is an invitation for a member of the Vodafone Web Relations Team  to get in touch and offer me a great deal. You can contact me at my registered email address or, if you are able to look me up, you can call me. If you want my number, you can email me and I’ll give it to you. I’m doing this before I call retentions, but my mind at the moment is very much focused on the idea of getting my PAC code and taking up this great Three deal. Hope to hear from you!

Re: Upgrade due - Galaxy S2

Hi

Could someone contact me please regarding an upgrade. My contract is nearly up and would like a Galaxy S2 but have seen cheaper deals elsewhere.

Thanks

Re: Upgrade due - Galaxy S2

Hi,

I'm in a similar position to many here; I've been on Vodafone Business since January last year and my contract expires in mid-July. I've been paying something like £35 a month for a Sony X10 and now I want to upgrade to a Galaxy S2. I spoke to the upgrades/retentions team and whatever I was offered was quite poor.

I'm able to get 900 minutes, unlimited texts, and 1GB internet, as well as £60 cashback and an iPod Shuffle on another network with the phone completely free, on a 24 month contract. I've actually already placed an order for this since Vodafone showed no interest in keeping me as a customer, but having seen the success of some people here I thought I'd give posting a go, to avoid the hassle of switching networks.

I'd appreciate if someone from Vodafone could let me know if anything more competitive can be offered, and even if not, just to let me know for peace of mind!

Thank you

Hi douper

Welcome to the eForum :smileyvery-happy: it is always good to see new faces on here.

Brilliant news that you are looking to upgrade :smileyhappy: I have just sent you an email, if you can reply back to that with the relevant information, we can go through the offers together.

Hi thrakrars

It is always good to see our customers wanting to upgrade, as this is a business account we are not able to offer upgrades on the business account, if you can call 191 I am sure they will be able to look at all of the possibly offers available for you.

Re: Upgrade due - Galaxy S2

Martin, I have spoken to your upgrades team and they offered me deals that were almost twice as expensive compared to the others I've found. Although I'm on a business account, I am self-employed and can still claim the expenses back from a personal contract, if you are able to offer me something more competitive.

Is this a possibility?

Thanks

Martin

I'm a little confused by your post.  I have had a number of emails from the web relations team discussing different price plans to upgrade.  I am also on a business account.  Are you saying that the web team should not be discussing upgrades with me or that you guys think I'm on personal (not business) account?

Re: Upgrade due - Galaxy S2

Hi Team

In a similar fashion to previous posters, I can upgrade my handset soon (13th June) and I'm looking at my options. The headline offers on the V-store don't look too attractive to me for the Galaxy S2.

I'd like to stick to an 18 month contract, and pay no more than £40 p/m (less is desireable). Let me know what my options are, or if you need any more info.

All the best!

Ian

Re: Upgrade due - Galaxy S2

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Thakrars, we would only be able to discuss an upgrade once the account has been transferred to a personal account. Alternatively, if you wish me to pass your details to a contact in our Business team please reply to the email I've just sent you.

wynmorgan, there are a very small amount of Business accounts that we can view but generally speaking, we pass these accounts to the relevant teams.

Blankfrank, I've sent you an email, a member of the team will be in touch shortly to discuss the options. :smileywink:

Best Wishes,

Kay

Web Relations Team

Re: Upgrade due - Galaxy S2

So the mixed messages from vodafone carry on.  On the one hand you are unable to discuss business upgrades and on the other hand you are.  I have no idea where that leaves me :smileysurprised:

Hi wynmorgan,

I'm sorry the situation isn't clear.:smileyindifferent:

To simplify the situation we can view your account and have previously discussed upgrade options with you. Whenever you wish to discuss an upgrade again please let us know.

All the best,

Kay

Re: Upgrade due - Galaxy S2

Spoke to Business Retentions and got offered for £36 incl VAT the following:

1500 minutes any time, any network
3250 texts
3000 landline minutes
1000MB of e-mail / mobile internet access

It seems like a good deal, but in reality I don't need that much; I only need around 700 minutes, 300 texts and 1GB of data a month. Do people think I'd get a better offer if I was to switch to a personal account?

And could someone from Vodafone confirm if I switch to a personal account if I would still be eligible for retentions offers?

Re: Upgrade due - Galaxy S2

It's still difficult to understand that I can get the phone for £89 on a 12 month contract with Dialaphone but nearly £200 if I deal directly with vodafone.  Same package and same network.

Re: Upgrade due - Galaxy S2

Hi Thakrars,

I must admit that this is a very good offer however, if you did transfer to a personal account from a business account via our transfer’s process you would still be able to upgrade.

The only difference is that the deal offered may differ from those offered as a business customer.

I would take a look at the normal consumer account offers and let us know if you decide to transfer your account.

James
