Hey guys I am a bit worried because my galaxy s2 is not updating at all i have tired to get it to get 2.3.5 but its not happening no matter what I do so i am wondering is there a problem with my phone because my friends Galaxy s2 has 2.3.5 running perfectly on vodafone aswell. But now that samsung has officially announced that ICS will be on the phone during this month, I am scared my phone might not get it so can you please tell me what i can do to get this fixed

Scared? Really? Hmm... ok

As for your predicament I too am running 2.3.4 so I wouldn't worry, and as 4.0 was just released VF should be pushing this soon.

you need to see what is on your phone now

2.3.5 is a Vodafone rom (and not a good one)

2.3.4 is for Open europe or phone bought from Carphone warehouse or Phones 4 U, You will get the update on the 16th March

and 2.3.4 is more stable any how, This is updated vis Samsungs Kies 

where did you get your phone from ????

2.3.5 is currently the latest software for this device and would be updated using kies, you can see step by step guides and also loads of information to help you get the most from your device on our Help Centre.

Not oftern they get the info wroung Kies does update S2 phones But Vodafone branded phones now only update Via OTA (Over the Air) Unless they have dropped the idea 2.3.5 was the first  OTA sent out

Samsung confirmed that Vodafone are using OTA to update there phones

Hence why people can not update via Kies the firmware is grayed out

I've always done my Galaxy SII via Kies untill this update and never had any problems, although had loads using a galaxy y.

P.s Stephen your gonna love ICS.

The OTA is new to Vodafone and samsung and agreed kies can spit its dumby out on some phones

OTA are better as they don't brick your phone

But it works or not

In the USA they have a different Kies that just is just for updating

But it Looks Like all networks will be done OTA and the rest Via Samsung
