Galaxy S3 received with Do Not Accept If Seal Broken - BROKEN

I received my S3 from Vodafone and the seal which says DO NOT ACCEPT IF SEAL BROKEN was broken and the clear plastic protective cover on the back of the phone has been peeled off and just about being held on in 1 corner.

I rang Vodafone who said it should of been sealed and they would exchange it but unfortunately none in stock.

Was asked if I could hold on to it until they come in stock but I requested to return it so they are sending me an envelope to return it and then they will reset my contract to before my upgrade and I will need to re upgrade !!!!

Has anyone else received there phone direct from Vodafone with the seal broken?

Did Vodafone break the seal to install the Vodafone Discover widget ?

Oh and the back cover is a dark grey almost chrome look and not the bluey purple of the edge/screen surround ?

I'm in two minds wether to send back and wait for god know's how long for another upgrade to go through or should I go with another provider who give a better contract deal anyway?

Hi. All I can say is mine was totally sealed.

It says do not accept if broken so if I was you I would return it and wait for a new one.

Mine was sealed, but I do agree with you about the back cover, it does not match the front.

VF don't need top open the boxes to install their software, it's already included in the firmware uploaded by Samsung in the factory.

Sounds like it could have been a return.

Re: Galaxy S3 received with Do Not Accept If Seal Broken - BROKEN

The seal on mine was broken at one end but inside there were no signs of it being used so I accepted it. It does also say on the box:

If seal has been broken or tempered with, do not give clear receipt unless contents are examined in presence of delivering agent.

I did this and it seemed fine.

This was my second s3, first had camera fault.

Re: Galaxy S3 received with Do Not Accept If Seal Broken - BROKEN

Pre paid special delivery bag came today and note inside said to return within 10 days of receipt of pack.

Its gone back and have proof of posting so I have no concerns other than the time it takes for stock of the blue to arrive.

The reason I didn't go for the swap was because there was no stock of the blue and I didn't want to hold on to the phone waiting for stock to arrive in the quoted 2 - 4 weeks! also it leaves me able to choose another provider should I see a better deal or get impatient lol

My seal was broken when it arrived in a sealed courier bag. I assumed the seal was broken so Vodafone could insert my new micro sim envelope.
