Re: Samsung Galaxy S3 - Pre-orders

Am I right in assuming then that as I ordered a white one, (even tho I have had two emails one saying mine will be delivered on time and another sent at the same time saying it will be delayed) that I will get mine on the 30th as planned???????? Can anyone from Vodafone confirm this!?

Ado28,

All the other supliers had confirmed hours before VF of the delay and from reading up online a lot were offered the choice to swap to white.  I think everyone who is angry at VF is because of the way they have handled the situation by being the last retailer to confirm the delay, all day long they have denied all knowledge of the delay.  Peolpe are frustrated and have the right to voice their concerns so dont try to be smug with your comments.

Who's making smug comments? I'm not the one throwing my toys out of the pram! If all the other suppliers announced it hours before VF then I have been missed out! If theres going to be a delay then there is not a lot any of the carriers can do about it as they can't give you something they havent got!

Re: 32gb White Delayed

Time to head into town and see which network has decent connections with manufacturers and buying any SGS3 I can find, if vodafone cant provide it it's not the end of the world! but telling us 2 days prior to launch is pathetic!!

'This has nothing to do with Vodafone, they don't make the phones. If your peeved off then complain to Samsung as its their blunder not ' That's as maybe but my contract is with Vodafone not Samsung, they have to shoulder the blame!!

Re: S3 Delays

People are annoyed becasue they said there would not be a delay... then there might be a delay on certain phone types.... then there will be on the bue 32gb.... and now its all the phones, from blue/white 16 or 32 gb all delayed... But they could of said before and then people could of cancelled the newer contract they signed( more money as well, or the cost of the phone already going out of the bank account!) and possibly got a different phone!

Re: S3 Delays

Samsung are to blame for the lack of units.

Vodafone are to blame for continuing to take order stating the estimated date of delivery was 30th May.

Re: S3 Delays

I'm confused. Does this mean the networks are sitting on a bunch of dud phones? Seems strange they wouldn't know in advance unless Samsung has been particularly dodgy.

Re: S3 Delays

Not happy at all, another 2-4 weeks of Vodafone taking more money from me as my new contract started when I pre-ordered but no phone to show for it. :smileyfrustrated:

Me a brown nose. I think not! I haven't pre ordered from VF and I'm a CPW customer. Previous experience with VF made me order elsewhere this time around! All i'm doing is stating the facts here. Yes some people are a bit dissapointed with whats hapening but at least VF customers have been told that Santa isn't coming. CPW hasn't sent me an email or text to say that I won't be getting mine on the 30th but I'm not complaining about it, yes I will be a tad dissapointed but thats life and we just need to deal with it i'm afraid.

You dont get it do you.....VF have gone about it the wrong way and its about time they realise that they cannot keep doing what they do and expect to get away with it....they must have known before today that they were not going to get there full quota i.e pebble blue fones and should have been in touch with myself and others and offerd the white and if accepted made sure it would be in our hands on wednesday!!!!!!!!

Re: S3 Delays

Oh dear, Vodafone have managed to succeed in upsetting many of their customers yet again. I have pre-ordered the 16GB white handset and am confident I will get my handset on Wednesday, I think the delay info email has been sent to everyone who pre-ordered an SG3, regardless of model, that is poor as it has confused many people. It is a bit crap that they have dropped this 'bombshell' 2 days prior to launch, but let's be honest are we really surprised? Vodafone have always been awful at Customer Service, but we all keep handing over the cash. Basically, if you don't like it go elsewhere, but my theory on Customer Service is it's Britain so it's poor everywhere, just a fact of current times unfortunately. Besides, the supply issues are from Samsung, so I doubt you would find your 32GB blue handsets anywhere elsewhere either. I hope it's all precautionary and Samsung sort it out and everyone gets a new SG3 on Wednesday!

Well, 'within 2–4 weeks'.

So with Sprint (in the US) giving a free case for pre-orders of the HTC Evo 4G LTE that are delayed, what are Vodafone doing to compensate customers in the UK?

This has nothing to do with Vodafone, they don't make the phones. If your peeved off then complain to Samsung as its their blunder not Vodafones!

Sprint aren't the manufacturer either. I'm not buying the phone from Samsung, but from Vodafone.

Perhaps they shouldn't have set a date for delivery if they weren't sure of their supply?

I see your point but not setting a date for *expected delivery would put off potential customers. All the companies I checked out had an astrex next to the delivery date which more or less said "expected date 30th May 2012, however this can change subject to the manufacturer"

The S3 is now the most pre ordered electronic device in history. The iphone 4S had a pre order of 4 million so with Samsung having a pre order in excess of 9 million there were bound to be mishaps which I even hinted at way back when the phone was offically announced at Earls Court.

People can shout until they are blue in the face but VF will do nothing as its a problem outwith their control. Like it or lump it but thats just the way it is. Soon we will have our new phones and all will be fine and dandy... Its 22.50pm and I still haven't had the email from CPW saying i'm, not getting my phone on the scheduled date...

Re: pre-order delay up to a month

This sucks. I am due an upgrade and the upgrade team can't even process one until the phone launches and they get stock, so I've been waiting for a call back this week. Now with this delay I'll be waiting longer. With my existing phone starting to have charging problems I may have to go elsewhere in order to keep a working phone.

Yes I could of taken a contract at full price, but I think repeat customers deserve something for their loyalty, VF obviously don't agree.

So now we'll have (some) new customers getting their phones whilst existing customer will have to wait a month before getting hold of a phone.

I don't understand why existing customers due an upgrade couldn't get a upgrade price through the web team

Feel very let down by VF, starting to wonder why I'm putting up with this.

Maybe mods can pass this on as customer feedback.
