Upgrading early, been emailing VF, phoned and they had no idea...

This is my first post, although I have been reading the forum for a while..

I want to end my contract early so I can upgrade to the new Samsung Galaxy S3 asap. I emailed Vodafone yesterday and was told that yes this was fine, and they gave me a contract settlement amount and said they would bring my contract end date forward once this was paid, so I could upgrade straight away. Great I thought! However, I just got off the phone to customer services, who had no idea what I was talking about, quoted me a higher price to terminate, and tried to talk me out of it, saying all phones are out of stock anyway... I said forget it...

I have emailed Vodafone back again, asking them to phone me instead... So, will they..? Is the white 16gb completely out of stock? Should I wait?! I only want a 12 month contract, and am happy to pay upfront for a phone instead of paying more out over the year....

I was hoping this would be easier than it has been :smileysad:

@Sarette

Welcome to the Forum!

The current line from VF is that if you pre-ordered a white 16Gb phone before yesterday you should get it today

Hopefully one of the Web Team will see this and respond to you quickly about stock and your personal options.

Thanks :smileyhappy:

The website says the white 16gb is in stock, so who knows!

Btw, I had an email saying I have a private message, but can't see where this might be!! Argh .....

Hi Sarette,

Thanks for your post and welcome.

JSK73 has answered your questions brilliantly. Thanks :smileytongue:

We can look at arranging an upgrade for you. I’ve sent you a PM so we can look into this for you.

Just follow those instructions and we’ll be in touch.

Hi Ian, thanks for the reply.

I have read the PM, it states 18 or 24 month contract, I want a 12 month one.... Also, I am still waiting to pay to settle my current contract as I stated above!

Still waiting for a phone call so I can pay it off. If my Husband and kids weren't on Vodafone, I'd move to someone else.

It's approaching 24 hours since I asked them to call me instead... I'm not impressed.

Hi Sarette,

Did you receive the PM I sent you and did you email us including MMM135 in the subject line?

We’re a small team and do advise up to 48 hours for a callback after you’ve emailed.

I’ve just sent you another PM just in case.

Thanks

Ian

Re: Upgrading early, been emailing VF, phoned and they had no idea...

Was just replying and then VF phoned at last! My account is now settled so I should be able to upgrade in 24-48 hours...

No I have not PM'd you yet Ian. I will do so shortly. However, i wish to have a 12 month contract and I see the PM says 18 months or 24 months.... is this a problem?
