how do i sync my facebook contacts with my phone book contacts so that when they ring there facebook picture will come up?

Just checked on my SGS3 and its working.

I just opened Facebook App > Menu > Settings > Sync Contacts > Sync with existing contacts... exit

opened Contacts and a little blue Facebook icon is next to my contacts that have a facebook account.

Hi Karenj72 - TSD is right - there is some issue with Facebook and Google not playing nicely together.  So on shiney new devices running Android Icecream Sandwich (like the S3) it doesn't always work.

I managed to get it working on my S3 - but because of the issues, I can't guarantee it will work for you.

Make sure your Wifi is on first - it will speed up this process a bit.  Go into your Facebook App, press the Menu button and scroll down to the Other Settings and select the option Synce with Existing Contacts.  Leave it for a bit to download your Facebook Contacts and the pictures.

Once it has been done, go into your contacts, select an individual contact and click on the connections option.  From there you will be able to join your phone contact with your Facebook contact.

I do warn that the pictures come across quite blurry and out of focus....

There is also sync options when you log into the app. Worked for me each time I have done it.

Have you tried logging out of the Facebook app, then when you sign back in you should be given 3 options for syncing contacts.

Sorry, not Facebook related but close enough not to start a new thread! Linkedin.com App - same question, does it sync contacts with S3? I know the LinkedIn app offers it but it doesn't work on my HTC Desire. I'm presuming it's because it's an old phone / software. (Samsung Galaxy S3 32GB arriving tomorrow).

@drey I couldn't work out how to get my Facebook contacts all linked up with photos but have managed to do it after following your post.
