TSD, I'm always on here for live Q+A, whatever would you ask during an official session?
NDJ, I know you feel starved of information sometimes, but this is just the nature of the way the forum has always worked. At least we have some official staff posts on here eh? I don't think any of our competitors take that approach, so whilst you might not like the way we do things, I do think it could be worse.

Hi Tom
The other Forums I use that have a Live Q & A, set a designated time slot. That way all members know when a particular person is available and what subject is going to be discussed.
This keeps the discussion on topic and stops that particular thread becoming very disjointed.
Members can offer Subjects for discussion and the most popular ones are timetabled, and an appropriate expert lined up to take questions.
My sugestion of you Tom, was purely as a guinea pig, to test if this would be a viable scenario.
Hope that clarifies my point. ![]()

First question for the Q@A session
is the same team working on this firmware that worked on the Samsung Vodafone H1
The reason I ask is because I am getting the same problem with Email on this phone that I got on the H1
Emails keep coming back on the phone after I delete them
other Apps missing from this phone include
the 2 versions of MSN MESSENGER (this was a massive problem with the H1)
Tetris has been deleted
Poker has gone
the Panoramio App has gone
My Directions App Gone
SteveQ
Next step will be a 4G Phone

Hello...
Finally managed to update to 2.2.1 using the Kies software (had to update to latest version). First 3 goes timed out but 4th time did the trick.
The only thing i've noticed that's a bit strange is that i keep getting email notification icon (and notification sound) in the notification bar at the top but then when i go and check the inbox there aren't any new emails. Very odd. Has anyone else experienced this???
Apart from that everything else seems OK to me.
Thanks
JDK.

Tom
Tom we no as soon as you no we no!!!!
But there was no Sorry or a apology, all we got was a It was left out in error !!!
well to add to the mess the 360 people app does not work.
Whats that four now !!!
As I said its not the eforum team were having a go at but the department that has made this mess.
You no which department , this put you in the middle, Not a good place to be in !!!!
We Get the people that have the problems and what has Vodafone done to help Not a lot Have they
This is the problem
as for the nature of the way the forum has worked well it's here for the customers to get help and advice.
What help has Vodafone offered Nothing what advice have they offered " This will be included in the next update !!" when ??
Strange how Samsung seemed to be geared up for this mess and have to pick up the peaces but have you told your customers this that there local service centre can roll there phone back to 2.2 and fix the problems !!!!
This update has been a disaster don't forget Vodafone have signed a big contract with Samsung on the new Galaxy s two and tab this will not look good to them on what has happened but also the way it has been handled.
As for the post Tom your the only one that seems to help on here, and your replys are informative but what are we supposed to do just sit back and not help but we need information to help them.
other wise we can only tell them what we no. I can not belive vodafone just want there customers to wait with all the problems,
The people that so fare have this are all ready talking about de-branding now if this had been handled better then i'm sure they will hang on i'm even advising them if they go the odin root to first put the Vodafone 2.2 back on.
The other thing is Tom why has the Botched update not been pulled from Samsung to stop people from updating then they would come on here and then we can tell them cos there was a fault with it then they would i'm sure be fine with that or is vodafone just going to let people put the faulty firmware on there phones.
I'm sure most will agree this is not the eforums fault but your the only point of call for people to vent there anger this is not fare on you guys there, as you do a good job well some do. But at the end of the day we only want to help not to drive customers away we leave that to vodafone to do that !!!!

It will be !!!!
but post that as well in the samsung other devices there may be on there some one that could help, If i remember the H1 was not a bad phone. You may find tho that Msn was only avalable for windows phones now it's a microsoft thing as for the apps that will probs be Vodafone on that
As for you Galaxy s were still on standby to help if you need it ![]()

@N-dj
All your points are indeed valid.
The catch word at the moment is... Transparency.
Vodafone would do well to apply this policy to their Business plan.
Also "accountability" is the Witch Finder General of Offices! This makes it very difficult to ask any individual to answer questions, without that person then becoming the Scape goat!
Which brings us neatly back to the Q & A, scenario!

A Q&A scenario sounds great to me, for all of us users, and it would sound like a good advertising ploy for VF as well -- "Buy this phone from us and you can have access at set times to a technical expert" - I would buy!!

Question One!!!!!
Tom Can we have a update on the messed up Firmware and when the fix is coming out
( you can not ask your customers to wait till 2.3 comes ou)
Oh they have messed another phone up
Its android and its a Galaxy
Its the europa
They get multiple txt messages O2 had the same problem but they got a fix sorted and sent out
Vodafones answer was " Tell people not to txt you !!! "
So that three Phones Now TOM Not looking good
Guys i think we may need to nip over to that thread its on the Samsung devices section

I really would like to rid my phone of VODAFONE, but having looked at the link given earlier in this thread I just know I would get it wrong
(I hate reading instructions
)
Don't suppose there is anywhere with online step by step
what I mean is
step 1/ someone tells me what to do
I do it and reply
Step 2/ someone tells me what to do
I do it and reply
so on and so on until its set up
I would want something that Samsung will still cover with warranty
Steve
Next step will be a 4G Phone
