Went into Kies this morning and upgraded to 2.3.3 Gingerbread.BUJ4

Has GSM only mode, GSM/WCDMA auto mode and WCDMA only mode in the etwork settings now.

Running very smooth too.

This was on for me but did a Factory wipe first and kies not offering it now  

On phone with Samsung and they have pulled it not telling why this has happend

Nothing for the XEU product code, but thumbs up to VF to releasing their firmware so quickly.

Both the Vodafone one and the XEU one have been pulled. There is a problem with it !!!!!!

Phone seems to be working fine, however wont now connect to Kies, dont know why ? upgraded Kies this morning, then the phone ?

Not sure what I should be doing now ? Is the connecton problem the problem or is it something to do with the upgrade being pulled ?

Any sggestions ?

Its all a bit manic at the moment to fix your kies go to there site and install the kies again this removes the previuos version and reinstalls it then do a diver recovery and it should sort it If your on Vodafone firmware i'm sure there looking in to the problem, But if there pulled the firmware then it must be a major glitch

Thanks, got the Kies working again after your suggestion.

Not sure if I should be worried now tho about the firmware upgrade ? Push email from my work account seems to have stopped working ? Don't know if this is part of the glitch ?

Can you roll back to 2.2.1 or should I just hang on and see what happens ?

The Vodafone variant update hasn't been pulled.

To clarify, Android 2.3 is now available for Vodafone variant Galaxy S handsets. This update will be available via KIES as per the information here.

If the update isn't available right away, check later on, as it's made available in batches to spread demand.

Some customers who purchased Galaxy S handsets from Vodafone received the Open Market variant, for which this update isn't currently available. We'll be working with Samsung to find out when the update is released and will let you know if we get any more information.

This from Samsung Tecnical and they said both Firmware have been pulled it because of the USB drivers with Kies so this sounds like a kies problem, No change there then we have seen this before 

as for the JVK my local service centre has it and it has Force close problems 

So Vodaphone users if you do get a update then go fo it, but don't panic if you can not get back into kies after i'm sure Samsung will fix that

I am impressed at Vodafone how fast they moved on this Not bad Voidafone Not Bad !!!!

One thing I have noticed is that the RAM status is now high, showing 263/329 in use, this seems alot higher than on 2.2.1 ?

Can anyone comment ? Will this be a problem ? I have yet to reinstall all my apps, some are there but not all.

Also seems to be using data alot of the time, dont think I have anything running in background except for push email ?

Again, any ideas ?

Did you do a factory reset first if not try doing one this should clear things up

I swear I'm about to break something. The crappy Kies software won't let me upgrade. It knows there's an upgrade to do, it starts the upgrade, then stops, saying the phone is disconnected. This cycles repeats for ever.

Why did Samsung decide to ruin everything by forcing, possibly the worst piece of software ever on to us. Yes maybe even worse then anything Sony have come up with. Why can't they do OTA updates, like HTC?

Sorry Vodafone, Samsung ruined it for you, but thanks for getting the possibility of an update out so quickly.

I love my Galaxy s but Samsung Kies is one of the worst piece of software ever, my phone connects fine then I get to the upgrade and Kies says 'the phone has been disconnected please reconnect and try again' I have tried this on 3 of my computers and still it says the same error code. Can you please help?

it is telling me I have the latest version installed

PDA.JS3/PHONE.JS1/CSC.JS2(VOD)

ANYONE any idea?

Hi there. I am in the same position. Attach phone to Kies and it tells me that this is the latest firmware : PDA:JS3 / PHONE:JS1 / CSC:JS2 (VOD). Can I force it to update manually or do I just have to wait?

There is no way to manually force the update I'm afraid, so it is a waiting Game!

Take this opportunity to make sure you have backed up all your media, contacts etc. So you are ready when the time comes.

I have I have...I'm waiting I'm waiting. I actually thought it updated yesterday, but it must have been the interim update, as I haven,t done it for ages. Do you think it will be today? Why have others got it and I haven't?

Been trying to upgrade as of Pm last night and as of yet no luck,
with 2.2 I had no issues whatsoever and I had it fully updated within minutes.
Are Vodafone going to text us when the update is fully available? As and when it's fully rolled out?

This is very frustrating that I receive info from Vodafone Twitter that its available to everyone and its clearly not.....yet.

This is were they use the " It is gradually getting rolled out " bit well it seems strange that there are alot of people not got this and the XEU customers also have not got this. Normally people come on and post that they were able to update
