Hi all,

I have a Galaxy S brought direct form Voda, PDA I9000XXJF3

Have been trying to update it for a while now solving various "challenges" as I go!

First my phone would go mad flicking every 2 seconds when trying to connect to Kies but was fine being used as memory stick. solved this be deleting my music from the internal memory.

Second phone kies wouldn't recognise my phone. The phone was now stable, no flicking but Kiew just displatyed trying to connect to Galasy I9000 for ever! Spoke to samsung and after 45mins confirmed it should work but still didn't! Tryed another computer still on Vista and worked.... Very happy.

Third, phone now connects to Kies but when clicking update firmware Kies says there is no new firmware available!

I have read on this forum that it may be because samsung servers are busy so I will try araing but will have to wait untill the weekend.

On doing more research I noticed there are 2 different versions of Kies available to the galaxy S!!!

Which is the latest/correct version for the Froyo update? (Don't know if it matteres but is still poor to have 2 different versions available on the samsung website!

Maybe I have the wrong version (I forget which on I used, I think it may have been the second one which is the "download kies" button on the Galaxy S phone firmware update tab)

Any help appritiated

Are you sure about that second one? I just had a look on the samsung site and could only see version 1.5.3.10103_102_1  /15oct / 135.1mb

Hi, yes im sure,

If you klick the Download Kies button as in the pic below it will start to down load 1_5_3_10103_100_2 a different version compared to if you klick the software/manuels button.

I think you need to email samsung tech support and ask which one you should use

This 1.5.3.10103_102_1 is the up-to-date one if you installed the other you would get a update reminder asking you to update kies there is also a uni stall program as well this removes all previous versions of kies including registry posts,

Kies didn't tell me it wanted to update so I think I have the right one. I will check this weekend when I can use the only computer it seems to work on.
