30mb Download Limit

I tired to download a game from the market called Wind-Up Knight and i got a message saying there was insufficient space on my phone. I Googled the problem and found that there is a 30mb download limit on the Galaxy S. I Tweeted about the issue, in relation to Wind-Up Knight and one of the games developers Tweeted me back say that it is a defect on the phone and i should consider returning it. My question is, is this a defect on the phone, or has Samsung done this on purpose? If it has been done on purpose, is there a way around it?

Thanks.

Re: 30mb Download Limit

Right there is nothing wroung with the phone, the problem is that the developer has not tested this properly i have just tried on a 2.2 phone and it just hangs. It seems like this is a S2 only game and has slipped through the net. It is quick for the developer to blame your phone and they don't like to admit that its faulty. I have emailed Google (android market ) it does look intrseting game but as ado28 said we shall look in to this

I have also put a thread on XDA see if they can shed any light on the subject

Re: 30mb Download Limit

I agree with N-dj, the Developer is at fault here!

I just downloaded GT Racing - Motor Academy, it was a 13Mb download. But when you install the Game there is then another 300Mb of Game Data to download, this is stored on the internal SDcard and so it doesn't get affected by this limit.

[ Edited ]

I forgot about this post until now lol. I can confirm that it works on CyanogenMod Build 173. There has been a Market update so it may be worth trying again on other Roms :smileyhappy:

Edit: it downloads but force closes when opened :smileysad:

Re: 30mb Download Limit

Nope my mates here and i have been emailing with google over this and i have been having a pop

The first said that it was down to the developer so i pointed to there new policy for only offering compatable apps for the devices this is why on the web it tells you and the new market app does this in the back ground.

They are now looking in to this as developers are supposed to point out before and after any phones that apps do not work on and they havent.

I have tried to put this on my wife thrive and it would not load

I the saw that in the my apps section of the Android market it was listed with the paid apps i have left off

There looking in to that

The fix is Applications>Manageapps>All then find the Maket app and delete the data
