360 Samsung H1

[ Edited ]

Hi,

How do I copy my phone book contents to my computer? I've tried to do this in New PC Studio but can't see the contents of the phone book anywhere.

(I don't use 360 btw)

Also, I've noticed that the phone jams on occasion. I use the alarm most days but sometimes the alarm won't sound, when I look at the phone there's a message saying 'closing application'. What is this? If I restart it it's fine...

And.... is there a dictionary on the phone that I can add my own words/names to? And a way to copy/paste text? If not, why not? :smileyhappy:

Thanks

Re: 360 Samsung H1

Hi jla,

Thanks for posting, I'll be more than happy to help you out here :smileyhappy:.

In regards to copying the contents of your phonebook to your computer, this will need to be done via Vodafone 360. Just sign up via the phone or website and then you'll be able to sync your contacts without any issues.

When the phone is jamming it sounds like the app is crashing and then closing. If this continues to happen then I'd recommend checking which firmware version you're on by dialling *#1234#, the latest version is BUJC1 which will show in the PDA section. If you're not on this version then you'll be able to update via NPS.

In regards to the dictionary and copying and pasting, these features are covered in our Samsung H1 Help Videos, I'd recommend taking a look as there are plenty of hints and tips in there.

Re: 360 Samsung H1

Thanks for your reply.

I haven't ever used 360. Can you tell me if any charges apply when using 360 on the phone?

I think my firmware may be up to date as when I used the new pc studio just recently I didn't get an update prompt.

Thanks for the  tip on finding the help videos, I'll check it out.

I have another question :smileyhappy: Occasionally I've selected by accident the vodafone f1 icon on the desktop, which connects me to 3G... is there are quick way of turning this off?

Thanks :smileyhappy:

Re: 360 Samsung H1

Hi jla

You can not remove applications that came pre-installed on the H1 or M1.
However, you can move the applications to put the ones you use most on the first part of the screen.

To do this, launch the Apps menu, select the Edit icon (pencil in the top right corner) and drag the icons to wherever you want them.
Once complete press the back arrow and your personalisation will be set.

Along with the videos we have some help pages that tell you all about the H1, along with a full section on the apps.

Regards

Re: 360 Samsung H1

Hi,

Sorry, maybe I didn't explain properly, my question wasn't how to move the apps as I already know how to do that, my question was how to disconnect from 3G etc when I have accidentally selected said app e.g. vodafone f1. There is no obvious way to do it. And i don't want to pay for services such as this, when I didn't intend on using it.

Can anyone tell me if any charges apply when using 360 on the phone? I don't pay for any internet on my contract.

Thanks

Re: 360 Samsung H1

Hi jla,

Apologies for the delay in replying to you, for some reason we weren't alerted to your original post. Now that I'm here though, I'll be more than happy to help you :smileyhappy:.

There is no way to disconnect from 3G as such. When you say 3G, I assume you're referring to an internet connection? If so, then the only way to stop it from connecting to the internet is to amend the internet settings to PAYG if you're on Contract and Vice Versa. That way, it'll fail whenever it tries to connect. Details of how to do this can be found on our Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 Help page.

If you're using the 360 services then you will be charged for accessing data. Without a web pack added to your account this will cost £1 per day but you'll be able to access up to 100MB in that day. If you're going to be using the 360 services then I'd definitely recommend signing up for a Mobile Internet Pack, these give you 500MB for as little as £5.11 per month (Blame the VAT rise for the random price!). Click the link for further details, they're definitely well worth the cost.

I trust that answers your queries, if you do need any further assistance though, then don't hesitate to ask. Also, if you'd like to leave me any feedback regarding how I've handled your query, then please click the link in my signature.

Hi Cotti23

Thanks for your post here. I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with this. I appreciate how frustrating this must be for you.

What you'll need to do is speak to your home network. This is the Vodafone UK forum for customers of the Vodafone UK network. Give your home network a quick call and I'm sure that they'll be able to sort this out for you. :smileyhappy:

Thanks

Re: 360 Samsung H1

Hi zouiteramir,

Firstly, a very warm welcome to the eForum Family, it's always great to see new faces on here :smileyhappy:.

To connect your H1 to your PC, it should just be a case of plugging it in via USB. If it's not being recognised in any of the USB ports on your PC then try using a different USB cable if you're able to. If that still doesn't work, then try a different PC. If the problem happens in another PC as well then it's likely that your phone is faulty, details of how to arrange a repair can be found here: Vodafone Repairs.

Re: 360 Samsung H1

Hi michael1987,

Thanks for posting. The easiset way to transfer Divx files onto your phone is to enable mass storage mode before plugging your phone in via USB. This can be done by going to Settings > Phone Settings > USB Setting.

Once you've done this, simply plug your phone into your PC via USB, then open the removable strorage drive folder within Computer. You'll then be able to drag and drop whichever files you want.

If you do need any further assistance, then be sure to check out our Dedicated Vodafone 360 Help page.
