I own a Nexus S and despite these phones being Google phones, I think Vodafone will want to do some testing on it first. The HTC testing only took a week or so, so hopefully not too much longer to wait.

i was on 4.0.2 and no updates were being found when i was doing manual checks. so i followed the instructions below and after about 10 attempts it worked. only just installed it so will try and figure out what changes have been implemented but seems a bit quicker.
1. go to setting / apps then hit the all button at the top
2. scroll down to google services framework and then press it to open
3. hit the clear data button
4. go to settings / about phone / system updates (you will notice the date will be 1969 or 1970 this is ok )
5. hit the check now button
hope this helps.

Got 4.0.4 for my Nexus S pushed to my phone automatically last night.
Proceeded with the upgrade and it seems to work OK - first impressions at least.
It seemed to put all my SYNC settings to on. I only really want to sync my google contacts and calender. The rest of my accounts / emails etc I am happy to check / poll.
Looks nice and whizzy tho. I think it is mainly cosmetic for the Nexus S. A lot of the new blown features for the look of the Galaxy Nexus such as Face Unlock and the new way of showing apps etc hasn't really come on the Nexus S.
Nice data metering built in now. Shame there isn't a widget with it.

Hi,Guys,
I have tried this a few times now but still no upgrade. Can anyone tell me if all GN phones are getting this update, or only certain ones.

i struggled updating my ladies nexus the other night, it was on 4.1, tried about 20 times and it wasnt having any, mine only took 7 attempts.
so after i cleared the data in google services framework i shutdown the phone and then restarted it, cleared the data again and checked for updates. took 2 attempts and a update was found. thinking about it i think i may have shutdown my phone once too so this may help.

Is anyone still receiving OTA 4.0.4 updates for the Galaxy Nexus? When I say still I mean in the last few days.
I have been trying the Services Framework "trick" for days now with no luck.
Could they have suspended the rollout due to the signal loss issue some users are reporting?
