Hi
I have a B3310 that works in every other way. I can get on the internet no problem, but when I recieve a MMS, and try to open it, it tells me that it cannot "retrieve" the message. I've looked online for the configuration settings, but cannot find them. I've tried to look at the picture online, but can't get into that either as it tells me my phone number is incorrect. Any help please?
I'm a PAYG customer.

Hi ccMarz.
Do you have BIS enabled on the device?
If you don’t you will not be able to receive the required service books and subsequently use MMS.
You can add the standard PAYG APN (Access Point Name) in the TCP/IP settings, and this will allow you to go onto the internet through a third party browser, such as Opera, but you’ll need to have the full BIS service to have picture messaging enabled as this is done via the BlackBerry APN.
It cost s an extra £5 per month to get BIS, and this credit needs to be in place before you can request the service to be added. The BlackBerry help pages show how this can be added.

Thanks Trev, but it's not a blackberry I have, it's a Samsung B3310.

Hi ccMarz
Sorry about that, looks like Trev miss read your model of phone there.
The reason you’re not able to find any setup guides for this phone is that we haven’t ever stocked it, so I’m struggling a little bit with this.
I think the best thing for us to do here to find out what is going wrong would be for you to post the MMS settings that you are currently using on your phone. We can then have a read through to see if anything is wrong.
Please let me know and we’ll be happy to help you further.
Thanks
Wayne

Thanks Wayne
I did buy the phone through Carphone Warehouse, but it came with a vodafone PAYG sim, so I'm also confused!
I'm not sure what you mean by MMS settings, but I've taken these down from my phone:
multimedia message profiles:
Vodafone Web
home URL
Proxy (ticked)
IP address
0.0.0.0
Port
0
Linger time (sec)
90
DNS -(Unticked, and DNS1 and DNS 2 are listed but unclickable)
Bearer
GPRS
ADVANCED SETTINGS
APN
pp.vodafone.co.uk
Login ID
web
Password
***
Is this helpful?

Hi Martin
I changed the username and password to wap, and asked a friend to send me another mms. I went to retrieve the message and recieved the same error, "service unavailable".
There used to be a way to view your picture messages online, or have them emailed to you. I used to do this a long time ago when I didn't have a phone that was capable for mms. But recently, I tried the site (Which I can't find again, vodafone website search is beyond useless), and couldn't log in as my phone number was incorrect. Which, well, it wasn't.
Thanks for sticking at this.

Hi ccMarz.
Sorry for my oversight earlier. ![]()
I think it may be beneficial in this case to look at how your numbers provisioned, and check that the MMS services are correctly added. ![]()
I will need to access your account to do this, so I've sent you an email, and if you can complete and return this, I'll be back in touch to assist in this matter.
