Re: Custom Roms

Thanks Paul, I managed to track the modem file down last night and it's now sitting on my pc in case I need it. To be honest the JPY modem is working a treat without any major battery drain.

Re: Custom Roms

update on BUJP5 modem battery usage.

between 20:00 and 00:00 it fell from 79% to 73%

between 00:00 and 06:30 stayed on 73, dropped to 72% by the time the alarm went off 07:10

By 09:00 with me using it normally 72% - 68%

Now, with me using it normally at work, checking emails, twitter messages, browsing, downloading market updates etc, still 45%,

the downloading drained 20 percent in one hour, that'll teach me to update angry birds!

I will keep an eye on the battery using this modem, and try the I9000ZSJPE as well.

speedmod has a new test kernel ...

Latest Test K13A-T1 (7-Feb) - Single version for neutral/cold/warm color + option to disable darkest auto-brightness level, selectable from Recovery

Re: Custom Roms

^ Forget that theme ^

Its pants. I installed it and it was very blue plus it didn't sit too well on my phone and it took a life time to reboot everytime you switched your phone back on and it also knocked out my wifi and stuffed up my clockwork recovery mod lol. Just as well I backed my latest ROM up just before flashing! Back on Darky's ROM with my light blue skyline theme and happy again :smileyhappy:

Yes mate some do however Darky's latest ROM is just as good as JPY. It all boils down to how you use your phone at the end of the day I guess.

Re: Custom Roms

Wiping the battery stats and doing a battery calibration is recommended after flashing a new rom.
The usage gets better after 2-3 full cycles of the battery.

Re: Custom Roms

Fed up with trying themes:smileymad:

I installed Jumbas theme, it didnt look as good on my device as it did in the pictures on XDA, and somehow it managed to change my settings, and at the same time lose the Settings app!

I have come to the conclusion that they are just eye candy, battery power guzzlers!! Grrrr.

Will have to agree with you here Jim. The only theme I really like is Lite blue skyline as its crisp and clean and doesn't drain your battery of much up your settings. I'm back on JPY again lol

Re: Custom Roms

For any of you guys out there that like the slimmed down roms, there is a new one on the block from Tricky103 who is also a forum member here.

At the moment I am running his v1.1 rom although he has just released v1.3. I find the slim roms great, just add on whatever you like and Tricky103 has put it all on his thread on XDA on how to do it.

I find the phone to be very fast, and I am finding that battery life is also good.

Re: Custom Roms

[ Edited ]

Hi

I created my own custom rom.

After months of testing roms. I realised that I only use 2 or 3 things that Samsung provide. :smileyhappy:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=951207

Try it out. Super fast. Battery seems very good.Very slim, but to add things is no problem.

Tricky103 Essentials Slim :smileyhappy:

Edit, I see your already on it jimc130. :smileyhappy: good man..

Version 1.5 is ready for release. You can grab it here.

I compressed all apk's and png's, removed so much I should take the Samsung badge off of it.  Added the non increasing recording phone.apk.

Been tested and it works. Go to the thread to find install instructions :smileyhappy:
