Email account disappeared - Samsung H1

My yahoo and Google email have disappeared from my handset. Logging onto 360.com using a web browser shows the accounts to be there. I'm not urgently worried about the gmail account as it's *never* worked on the H1 but I need my Yahoo mail.

On the handset I logged out of 360.com and performed the daily battery pull, powered the phone back up and logged back into 360.com. No joy.

In a web browser at www.360 .com I tried to remove both accounts with a view to re-activating them but there doesn't appear to be a way to delete them. The grey 'Delete' box is......greyed out.

Also why is Yahoo mail no longer in the list of accounts that can be added?

Re: Email account disappeared - Samsung H1

Exactly the same has happened to me today - my Sky email account has disappered.

However, bizarrely my phone still alerts me to when a new email has been received.  But when I try to open them, it says that they are in my 360 account.  I open this account and it is empty.

This happened to me a couple of weeks ago, however, I was able to add my Sky email account in the normal way.  This time, there is not an option in the web accounts list to set up a Sky account.

I have been relatively happy with this phone up to the last month or so.  However, I am tied into this for another year.  Is there no way I can get out of this agreement and get a phone that VF actually care about?

Re: Email account disappeared - Samsung H1

Yes, I get alerts but to my 360 account when there's nothing coming into my 360 account. Checking on my computer now I'm home from work shows that these alerts are for Yahoo! emails. HELLO VODAFONE SUPPORT! IS THERE ANYONE THERE? YOUR SILENCE IS DEAFENING. May I have my email on my phone please as advertised when it was sold to me or is that too much to ask?

Re: Email account disappeared - Samsung H1

Keefb,

Looks like you are not alone with this problem, the same thing has happened to my yahoo and vodafone.net mail accounts. When I open mail on the H1 it now only displays my 360 mail account and looking at settings-> Vodafone 360 it thinks that I don't have any mail accounts. However email is still working for me and my mail accounts all still look OK on the 360 web site.

On the H1 mail app I can still see my yahoo and vodafone.net inboxes by tapping on the folder icon from within the 360 mail account. It's all a bit weird as I've not changed anything with my mail settings as it had been working fairly well for a while now.

I've tried logging off & back on, power reset - but it makes no difference.

Re: Email account disappeared - Samsung H1

Me too. Have got lots of messages listed under the 360 but cannot access them. Cannot find the links on the 360.com website either. Think there must be issues at vodafonbes end - what a surprise!
This phone has been the biggest let down of my life and am very ###### off that am tied in it for another blooming year before can upgrade. Only decent thing about it is that it backs up pictures and numbers but to be honest a pen and paper would be as good.

Re: Email account disappeared - Samsung H1

Same here! And my phone has also been heating up and lagging as well. I turned off my vodafone360 connection (so it's a red dot in the upper left hand corner) and the lagging and heating up has gone away. My e-mail accounts though are still not working!

Re: Email account disappeared - Samsung H1

Hi Everyone

Thanks for your posts here. I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your email accounts on your H1's. I appreciate how frustrating this must be for you.

Just to confirm, you are unable to access your email accounts on your devices OR through the websites?

Could you all let me know your firmware versions on your handsets and while I wait to get these I'll have a look around and see if we're aware of any issues.

Please let me know

Thanks

Wayne

Re: Email account disappeared - Samsung H1

I can see my Yahoo! and gmail (not that gmail's ever worked on the H1) accounts on the 360 website but not on the handset.

Re: Email account disappeared - Samsung H1

Email alerts come through to the handset but the only mailbox there is the 360 one. All the others have vanished.

Re: Email account disappeared - Samsung H1

I can see the accounts on the website but not through the phone. The e-mail app itself takes about a minute to even open up and then it only shows the vodafone 360 e-mail account. I click on it and then touch the "folder" icon at the bottom and then it shows my other accounts there. HOWEVER, every step of checking my e-mail is still EXTREMELY SLOW and that problem should NOT be ignored please.

Here is my firmware information:

Phone: i8320BUJA2

PDA: i8320BUJC1

CSC: i8320VODJC1

My PC studio program has not told me to update anything either.

I would like my phone to be working again please, and soon!!

Thanks.

Re: Email account disappeared - Samsung H1

Someone posted this on the other Vodafone 360 forum at http://forum.vodafone.co.uk

"I spent an hour on the phone to 2nd line tech support and now have a text message saying that external email adresses like BTYahoo are no longer being supported on the 360 service. I chose my contract because this POP3 option was available and I now have a contract and handset that will not do what it was sold for.I think the terms of the sale of goods and provision of services act will apply and I'll be checking that with trading standards on Monday. Good luck to all in the same boat - I am on hold to 2nd line tech support again now having been passed to them by Customer Services who know nothing about the change in service or the problem we 360 users who want to access other external email accounts now have."

So they drop services that were selling points of the 360 service without telling anyone.....

Re: Email account disappeared - Samsung H1

Yes my e-mail has also disappeared and was put on hold for 40 minutes to 2nd line support not including the 2 other calls, 1 of which I got hung up on(thanks voodaphone great service). I tell you know I will NOT be returning to vodaphone who sells you a phone that doesn't do what it says on the box.

Re: Email account disappeared - Samsung H1

oh and forgot to say sent a e-mail to the CEO so will keep you posted as to what happens if anything with that. 2nd line tech services were arguing with me to check that there wasn't an OTHER option on e-mail which i said there was not, I then phoned back customer services who then said 2nd line technical services would phone me back still waiting we will see 3rd call today time on phone 50mins.

Re: Email account disappeared - Samsung H1

n trying to phone technical services i phoned 5 times and each time got hung up on excellent customer services just wanting me to stay with them even longer. They are now trying me to get to my e-mail via the 360 vodafone site i can see my e-mail but am unable to sync it with my phone so the service is still unavailable this is getting beyond a joke. They said it may have something to do with my phone being fixed and having the wrong firmare update that has caused this. I DON'T THINK SO.
