Galaxy Europa

[ Edited ]

Going to keep this short and simple ...

I have no connection in the Kensington area. I tried calling various numbers and Vodafone helpline but all numbers have been restricted. This only started happening after I reset my phone .. why? - I've reset it twice without the sim card in as well.

Get back to me please, thanks.

Shouldn't need to do that.

Ok I did some of it, because the settings are already there .. and it still doesn't work .. there's no HSPDA, 3G, G or E symbols where the signal bars are.. :smileyindifferent:

Re: Galaxy Europa

You said this all started after you reset the Phone.

If you go into "Mobile Network Settings", do you have a Tick next to...

Use Packet Data

and

Data Roaming

Also make sure all the APN settings I gave you are in place.

Re: Galaxy Europa

I have a tick next to use Data Roaming, but there is no option for Use Packet Data in the "Mobile Network Settings"..

Also, I did everything you said, and I noticed that the SERVER setting has <Not Set> in it.. is it meant to be like this or what?

On my phone, Galaxy S, SERVER is also <Not Set> So I would say that is the correct setting.

This is starting to sound like there may be an issue with the SIM card itself.

Not wishing to offend, but the SIM card is in the right way round? (only asking :smileyvery-happy:)

You may need to ring Vodafone from a Land line and request a replacement SIM. It may be damaged?

The other possibility is a Hardware fault has developed within the Phone!

Re: Galaxy Europa

LOL, if I didn't put it in properly it would say (insert sim) or what ever it says .. but I will check again just in case.

I will have to call Vodafone off a landline soon and find out what's going on.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Galaxy Europa

How to I prevent my phone from charging when I plug it into the computer? I went into a store today and did what they recommended to do and it was still charging and I only wanted to plug it in for a few minutes. Now that's going to mess up my phone battery!!

Re: Galaxy Europa

Hi klangton2012

Thank you for your post and it is great to see you here.:smileyhappy:

I am unsure what you mean by 'it would mess up my phone battery' as this is one of the benefits, I have been unable to replicate this in the office however I have tried on a similar handset and cannot find the settings to disable charging whilst connected via USB in the USB settings.

Please could you advise us what difficulties you would be facing when connecting to a computer.

Many Thanks
