Re: Galaxy Nexus - Jelly Bean

Hi Nabs,

I have seen this rumoured online and from what I have read it should be a good release however, as per normal we don’t have any details on release dates for firmware.

See our firmware statement for more information, :smileywink:

However, please feel free to discuss the upcoming firmware speculation.

James

I can't wait to see the jelly bean build, no doubt the CyanogenMod team will incorporate it in to their roms :smileyhappy:

Amen to that! C'mon Voda ... I left Orange for Vodafone after the former took ages to bring updates to my HTC Desire at the time (whilst Voda customers had been updated for weeks/months). Let's see if it was the right decision!

Hi Guys,

There is some good news and some bad news.

The good news is that the staggered release of Jelly Bean for the Galaxy Nexus was started last night however the bad news is that we don’t have any dates to when it will be available to everyone and the rollout complete.

I would say keep trying to update and you will have it soon.

James

Cheers James,

Given Vodafone previous good record with Nexus updates i'm not concerned , it'll be soon im sure!

As you say Google run a staggered rollout, At the moment it's only the Google Play purchased devices in the states getting the update but I know VFAU have tweeted thet Samsung are preping the update for them to rollout.

Fingers crossed its only a couple weeks :smileyhappy:

Really? I was hoping for it to be days rather than weeks!

Re: Galaxy Nexus - Jelly Bean

I have just got the OTA update to Jelly Bean!

I did the clear Google Services Framework trick repeatedly a couple of times and the update started to download!

I've cleared the Google Services Framework a few times to no avail. Not to worry. It's definitely on its way which is good :smileyhappy:

Re: Galaxy Nexus - Jelly Bean

Yes.

I got my Galaxy Nexus directly from Vodafone and it's not rooted and the bootloader is locked.

Completely stock handset.

Re: Galaxy Nexus - Jelly Bean

Odinn, you shouldnt lose anything. Youll find when you google search afterwards, you may have to agree to google t&c's again, but thats about it.
Goto settings, apps, all apps, then google framework services, clear data.
Then goto settings, about phone, software update. Itll show last checked january 1970.
Click check for update.

I did this, followed by checkin, 2 or three times and the update started to download.

A checkin is the same as an update check, but have heard it pushes your device up the update list on google servers.
To do checkin, goto phone dial pad and type, *#*#2432546#*#*

Good health.
