Galaxy Nexus & Micro-sim issue

Hi,

just change from a Samsung Galaxy S3 to a Samsung Galaxy Nexus last saturday and first was suprise that the sim size was quite different (should have check before paying for the phone) anyway, I went back hoe and checked online how could I use my micro-sim in the Nexus.

What I did is I used a full sim slot (what hold the micr-sim when you get it the first time) from O2 and put the micro-sim in, and it worked straight away....

Unfortunately since this morning my phone tell my NO SIM CARD / EMERGENCY CALL ONLY

I have tried to move the micro-sim or swith off and on again, nothing change still NO SIM CARS.

I just bought a micro-sim adapter on eBay, but need to wait 2-3 days before I get it.

CAN SOMEONE AT VODAFONE HELP PLEASE OR SHOULD I JUST CHANGE (AGAIN) MY PHONE.....

THANKS GUYS,

Re: Galaxy Nexus & Micro-sim issue

Chances are the connectors aren't lined up correctly inside.

You could always give Vodafone a call or go into one of their retail stores and ask to see if you could transfer your number back to the regular sized SIM

Re: Galaxy Nexus & Micro-sim issue

Well I have tried several time this morning to move the micro-sim in the slot but still doesn't work. Do you think that a micro-sim adapter will solve this issue?
can I get an adapter at Vodafone or carephone warehouse retail shop?
Thanks,

Re: Galaxy Nexus & Micro-sim issue

Hi terrel81,

I use a microSIM adapter with some of my phones and have never had any issues.

If you want you can pop into your local Vodafone store who can transfer your number back onto a full size card in a couple of minutes.

Hi Giys,

Well please don't laugh but my micro-sim card was working fine, it seems that in my office I get a really bad network reception, in fact no network reception, is it normal?

Even at the vodafone shop inside the reception was so bad, the sale guy had to go out to get a signal....

make me wonder why I did go from a Galaxy S3 (with OK network reception in my office) to a galaxy Nexus (with no network reception in my office).

What should I do? Is this normal for this phone? Could it be that my sim card is too old (over 26 months...)?

thanks guys,

Re: Galaxy Nexus & Micro-sim issue

Strange,

I get very good reception on mine, much better than my colleagues iPhones.

You may have a faulty unit, it might be worth getting a like for like replacement whilst still in your 7 days cooling off period.

Re: Galaxy Nexus & Micro-sim issue

Thanks,

But I bought mine new from a CEX shop (second hand grade A) and I wonder if I just bought a faulty unit...
Anyway, I will use my Galaxy S3 again...

Thanks Guys,

Re: Galaxy Nexus & Micro-sim issue

I'm guessing you paid a fair price for it then.

If you purchased a faulty unit and you wern't made aware of any fault then you can return the handset under the sale of goods act for a full refund.
