Hi rhyshempton
Thank you for your posts.![]()
When it comes to queries around updates please take a look here.
As soon as an update is available for your device we will notify you, as thesoupdragon has said the servers can become busy as everyone looks to update and this can cause a delay.
Many Thanks

The Vodafone branded firmware was the slowest to come out on the last update. Some Vodafone customers are lucky because they were supplied with the unbranded XEU version of the Note.

I originally got my phone through phones4u and recieved the update to 4.0.4 a few weeks ago. I've since sent my phone to vodafone for repair and now i've got it back, although it says vodafone have updated it etc, I can't get the update to 4.0.4, it says there is nothing there. The phone is still the same. Strange?

Hi RKW,
Looking at our approved software list, the latest firmware to get approval on Vodafone sourced devices is Android 4.0.3 ICS. You'll get an alert as to when and if software updates are available, or you can set the device to check automatically at predetermined intervals via 'Settings', 'About', 'Software Updates' and ensuring 'Scheduled Check' is ticked. ![]()

Hi NDJ,
When I click it it just asks if I want to check for updates. I am already logged into a samsung account through my phone (can see it when I check the accounts section of my phone where google, facebook etc is)
I'm on Gingerbread 2.3.6
Thanks for your help,
Rach

2.3.6 ????
Why when you got your phone from Phones4U did you send it back to Vodafone ?????
Vodafone have now put there firmware on 2.3.6 this has messed up the device and kies will not be able to update and the OTA will not work.
This is because Your CSC (Customer Sales Code) will be XEU and not Vodafone (vod)
so you will not recive any update from any side OTA Or Kies
This can be fixed your self but i would strongly advice you take this to a Samsing service centre to get them to sort this out
and put XEU Firmware back on then when you plug it in to Kies or OTA it will work
Most service centres will do this there and then for £20 or over night for Free

Edit: changed my mind...
open the dialler App and type *#06# (To Display IMEI number)
Then type:
*#272*xxxxxxxxxxxxx#* (change xxxx's for your imei number)
Select VOD and click apply.
The phone will factory reset and wipe everything.
It will be on full Vodafone Firmware and should be recognised by Kies.
If you want unbranded firmware it will have to be reflashed and the CSC code changed.
