Galaxy note 3: microphone stops working when I turn on speaker whilst calling

I'm having trouble calling at the moment because my microphone stops working when i turn on speaker in order to hear the person i'm calling.

To start with they can hear me although i have trouble hearing them (i'm deaf), so to help me hear them i turn on the loud speaker, when i do the mic stops working and they cannot hear me. any way i can fix this or get it sorted?

I'd suggest first turning the phone off and on to soft reset it and if their is no dust / lint in the speaker and ports and your phones settings are looking fine then possibly a Hard Reset after creating a back up to save your data may help.
