Hi tonytango
A couple of questions that will help me to help you. ![]()
Are you receiving emails without issue?
Is this failure happening when you are connected via WiFi or a mobile connection, or both?
If it's both, then it would be the actual SMTP settings that are causing the issue, and you'd need to check and correct. If it works via WiFi, I'd suggest you change the SMTP settings and use our free 360 service as a replacement for BT. It won't effect anything, but may resolve the issue.
You first need to register for a 360 account.Don't worry about the handset compatibilty, that's just to send a SMS to add the application, this you can ignore. You just need to set up the account, and have a username and password created.
Once you have this enter the following settings:
-Outgoing Server:smtp.360.com
-Outgoing Server Port:465
-Outgoing Server requires authentication (SSL)
-Use your 360 username and password for this authentication.
Let me know if this helps, or if you require any further assistance.
Regards
Trev

Trev Nice to see you still kicking around But Trev what are you doing
Don't Use the 360 email it is so basic its a joke and it does not send a txt to your phone Trev he has a BT account which works Google mail is the best alternative and you have a app on your phone for that already 360 mail might of been ok on a ten year old phone get with the times Trev He has a Smart Phone ......
Right lets get to the Bottom of this What app are you trying to set up your email with, In the email app you need to no the Pop3 Details for BT you can find them on there technical Support page, and you need to put them in manually not just your email address and password, This is the same as setting up a email address on Outlook.
Now if you make a hash of it there is no delete account in there you need to go to manage applications then all and find the app and Force stop then clear all data that removes every thing.
I have tried it on Virginmedia and it works on there ok, Don't try and use the Social Hub I have No idea why we still have that as it is pointless any help please let me no

You could set your gmail account to maybe pick up your bt internet email, and then you will be sorted ?

If that was the case, I wouldn't have posted it!
From a web browser, log into GMAIL
>Go to accounts and Import
>First Set up your POP 3 BT email account by pressing the button 'add pop3 email account'
>Then in the section 'send mail as' set up your BT email account.
As my post suggests, once you have done all this you will be able to send and receive using your bt email account from within the gmail app on your phone!
BTW... The Gingerbread keyboard IS working. From the link I posted, there is a link to an xda thread which addresses any issues with it, by the guy who hacked it.

as the xda thread in the link suggests, if you want to use this gingerbread keyboard say for composing an SMS or email, press hold the text box and select the input method keyboard.
