Can Vodafone confirm if and when Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) will be made available for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 ?

If have one supplied by Vodafone on business contract, which is currently running Honeycomb 3.2.

Hi Wayne, I appreciate you can't comment on firmware availability.

I guess all I can say is I hope Vodafone will bring the ICS firmware from Samsung forward to  the Galaxy Tab 10.1 since it is a device Samsung has officially announced ICS support for. See http://global.samsungtomorrow.com/?p=8894.

I recently read this article on Engadget. http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/20/ics-coming-to-samsung-galaxy-tabs/, saying ICS was coming to the older Galaxy Tablets in July. Hopefully Vodafone won't be too far behind.

ICS has been out for a while now and still no update to my 10.1

Another reason I should have purchasd an iPad - oh and gone with another network provider. Support for this is appalling.

I am surprised there aren't more complaints like this on here.  I am stunned that vodafone have compounded Smasung's sloath on what was a £500 device when I bought it!!!!

About a month ago I played around with cyanogen mod ICS upgrades... but none of them were very good.  In the end I downloaded the Samsung Italy ICS update and its has been brilliant /perfect ever since.  When it boots it asks for the language... but  a re-install does this anyway.  Everything works.  The only issue I had was with my bluetooth keyboard.. but fixed this when I realized it used an Italien keyboard, which was just a settings option to change.

In concept very similar.  Just like the ipad is a big Iphone, the Galaxy tab is a big Samsung phone.  Funny in some countries everyone goes for the ipad in others the galaxy .. they are similar ..  I think the ipad is for normal users .. the galaxy tab for more adventurous ones..  but thats just me ...

The Tab 2 and there's currently a cashback offer - look on the Samsung wdbsite under Promotions. I've just bought a 7" and it's very good.

I keep getting the runaround from customer services saying that it is not down to Vodafone why my TAB cannot get the ICS update and that I should speak to Samsung.

When I speak to Samsung they tell me that Vodafone need to authorize the distribution of the firmware.

Can someone please clarify which company is talking BS?!!

I would not have bought this thing if I knew vodafone would stop it getting an update to the OS, Bet you don't have any power to stop an IOS update do you? So why cripple the android?

Vodafone users cant get it.
Bet there is never an issue with an ios update for the ###### iPad!
Why don't you just let us have it?

Over on samfirmware.com, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (GT-P7500) is listed with 5 Vodafone ROM's for different regions in September and October. Surely the UK version is imminent.

This 4.0.4 ROM is very good. It's a great improvement over Honeycomb. The speed and battery life improvements are good, plus I now get compatibility with Chrome and a few others apps I've been waiting for. A worthwhile upgrade.

You are lucky at least you have a galaxy tab I have been trying to get one from vodafone for the last 3 months,every week I phone up but they never have any in stock.
