Posted elsewhere as had the pleasure of an unbranded GN3 with a home toasted rom, running fine for over 2 weeks, no errors, will post in the correct thread about its overall performance etc later again...

Looks like the "shipping" handsets are a batch of 3 x 50 GN3 handsets, still waiting on a SYd warehouse VFCS rep or mod to answer here as to the stock being shipped and how OLD the hardware serials are...
I guess the easy way to make sure is cross match the serials from the stock sent to VF from S/G and list them as they get sent to VF customers waiting, then just send them back within the 7 days to get a newer hardware handset... if needed!

As far as I'm aware nothing has been changed in the hardware, it's been fixed with a software update which I got this morning
