Well, I just placed my order.
Went for the 12 month contract @ £36 per month and £199 for the handset. Get a 20% discount on line rental through work (which is the sole reason I've gone through Vodafone directly), and hopefully £50 cashback via Quidco. So all in all, a good deal I feel.
Just got to sit and wait now for delivery....

Did you go through Quidco website then? According to this https://www.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone-uk/campaigns/p
it's not available through Carphone Warehouse, Tesco, Quidco or Phones 4 U.
Also, assuming no Quidco:
£36*0.8 x 12months + £199 = 544.60
£41*0.8 x 12months + £139 = 532.60
so cheaper for the second deal + more minutes

Am now very sad, there doesn't seem to be any mechanism to chase my order or get updates, I just have to wait for an email. How long do you wait for these emails? Days? Weeks?
My first time with vf and they don't seem to be very good at communication I have to say. Hope it gets better.

Awww that's a burger. I am pretty sure they'll get the stock replenished quickly now. This is not the iPhone 4S we're talking about here.
If I were to guess, because there were only 37 of them they went really quickly and the system somehow managed to get some orders processed without the stock to back it up.
Vodafone are now in the G-Nex stock party, so basically, they'll have a pile of them in their next delivery. If memory serves, they get deliveries twice a week. That might be absolutely inaccurate, it is just what I recall being told.
I have been with Vodafone for over 10 years now and they are not perfect, but the response from them when something goes wrong has always been good for me. In terms of communicating information to customers about up and coming releases, they really are not any better or worse than other networks, which is to say, none of them seem to be happy to communicate information about phones they don't sell.
In relation to your order, it would disappoint me greatly. I'd request a callback from web relations team just to get some assurances as to when they expect stock next. It is not going to be tough for them to tell you that now they are selling the thing,
Sorry again. Hope it gets sorted soon.

Must admit I have found it mildly amusing at how much people have fumed over this device, I save all that for the Football but horses for courses and all that.
Anyway, after seeing that it was here thanks to this place, I got on the blower yesterday morning and ordered it.
I am on one-net express unlimited business tarif, so unlim calls texts and 08's with I thought 500mb but they informed me it's 1gb, I have suresignal and some amount of btopenzone as well.
Due to a bit of a mess up whilst porting a landline number over to my account i.e. they weren't able to do it after saying they could, I renegotiated the plan (price) as it meant I would need to retain my business landline, Voda decided on a 'goodwill gesture' and reduced the cost of the plan from £55 +vat to £15+vat with all the same minutes etc etc on a 2 year deal.
As I am kind of getting a good deal, I thought I'd treat myself and paid the £8 saturday delivery charge, My phone arrived at 8:45 am with DPD.
The seal was still in place on the box btw (although I have opened it without breaking it as well) gonna get it charged up and have a play, which will not involve trying to 'force the bug.'
Any ideas on what I should do now that I have it ? unfortunately I don't have an AR Droid but wish I had.
I am a new customer btw after transferring on a Bosman from the one's that claim 'the future is bright' yet their signal is s***e.
so do you reckon I got a good deal ?

After getting a text yesterday saying it was going to arrive Monday, I go and check my tracker in a glimmer of hope for it saying it's out for delivery today...
But it's not
Haha. One more full day and then it shall be here (that is if it doesn't arrive in the evening on Monday while I'm at work)! ![]()

Yep, clicked on the Vodafone link on the Quidco website. £90 has tracked into my Quidco account.

Well I've been using a hero and not really using all the functions, so I'm guessing that there will be many apps that I should get to make this boss. Tbh I only got it because they said I could have ANY phone.

Ok no worries.
To check out the graphics :
Tank Recon 3d lite - good useage of 3d, controls are good and gameplay is fun. Textures arn't particulatly great but I found it's a good demonstration of what the phone can handle 3d-wise
Iron Wars:- This game is pretty cool and is cross-compatible between android, ios and windows, so you can play somebody on an ipad from your phone, graphics are nice and clean, gameplay is smooth. Nothing too adventurous on the graphics front, but a good rounded finished game
Blood & Glory: - Now this looks like it's going to be good from the screen grabs, unfortunately it didn't work on ICS the other day, but you can watch the intro and it's pretty cool - after the intro it loads and then just exits to desktop so once they update it it might work.
^^ There's a few games to try to get you started
Must have apps:
All depends what you use your phone for, here's a couple of 'must haves'
Barcode scanner
Documents to go - open any microsoft office files
SeekDroid - This is the first thing I install on all my phones - find your phone if you lose it, remotely wipe it, check the call logs etc.
Chrome to Phone - Send content from your pc straight to your phone - say, a website or google maps directions, etc. or send the link to your phone then text it to somebody.
Other apps I use:
ConvertPad - converts any unit to any unit,
Auto Trader
AndroidVNC - connect to your PC if it has a VNC server installed
Do It Tomorrow - a good 'to do ' list app
ElectroDriod - this has got loads of information on electrronics, pin out diagrams, calculators, etc.
Fing - LAN scanner
Glympse - Share your location real-time with friends
Gmote - use your phone as a touch-pad mouse for your PC
GPS Speedo - GPS speedometer - good if you use your phone in a phone holder in the car
Loydstsb/Natwest banking apps
RAC Traffic - Traffic information
Stocks
Skyscanner - book flights on your phone
Tinycam monitor - view your home/work IP cameras remotely
Torque - use this with a bluetooth OBDII datascanner and read fault codes from cars
Translate
That's a quick summary of what I currently have installed on my phone
Hope it gets you started ![]()
