I upgraded to this phone a week ago and yesterday received a text saying i was close to my data allowance for the month. I haven't used it much differently to my previous phone an HTC touch diamond 2, mainly facebook/twitter, and there was a period of a week when i was using an old nokia as the HTC broke, with very little usage. I have never had this problem in the past. i downloaded a few apps when i got it but still...Is the galaxy a heavy data user, i switched of the enable background synching too to save data usage. Is there anyway on the phone i can see how much data i have used as i really don't want to go over the limit and have to pay extra.
From what you've described about your data usage this last week,
I think you need to contact vodafone customer services to get an explanation. You say you have upgraded so it could mean that you're now on a different data allowance and/or because of the way the month has been broken up in the new billing cycle.

Thanks for your post here. I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with this.
I can see that very.teknical has given you a very plausible reason for this so I would suggest taking the advice.
When I first got my iPhone 4 I downloaded a few apps (Or what I thought was a few apps) and I had soon used most of my allowance within a few days. My usage has not been anywhere near the limit since then so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
