Samsung Galaxy - Debrand/Update?

Hi all, I have followed frostfree's info on regedit debrand but to no avail, done everything i think to the letter including as some posts suggest downloading older kies version.
have changed appropriate reg strings for the XXJF3 but all that comes up is PDA-JM4/PHONE JM3 and cannot be updated.

also my hand set will not do 3 button download mode req for Odin3

Any suggestions please.

I did do original voda update to be tricked into the even more bloatwear situation

The first thing to do is to take out the battery for 30 seconds (The phone has some capacitors which keep things going long enough for you to change the battery) So you need to wait 30 seconds for everything to 'die'

Now put the battery back in and try again to put the phone into download mode.
(press and hold volume down+menu+power on)

Try this and let us know.

Read this post first by VT on how to fix recovery mode then my one here on how to flash JPO. Ignore my suggestion on how to fix recovery mode unless your phone is rooted.

Good to hear.

go to settings>about phone to check what version you're running.

Also in the phone app dial *#272*imei#
Make sure its set to XEU

No problem B-)

If it's running a bit slow do a factory restore and definitely change your product code to XEU aka UK product code by typing in *#272#imei#. *#06# will tell you your imei and it will perform a factory reset when you select it.

edit
VT you're too fast

You rooted your phone as well! LOL
You didn't have to do that (it was optional)

Did you apply the lag fix as well?

Lmao you weren't meant to do that but oh well. Only downside of rooting is if you break your phone and samsung / vf realise you rooted it when doing the repair, they may void your warranty. If you don't need root, then it may be worth reflashing your phone to un-root it

After the flashing instructions there were additional instructions which were optional.
the first for rooting the phone
the 2nd for applying the lag fix

Sounds like you did these as well

Don't worry about it, your phone will fly now!

Ah well. Your phone will benefit from being rooted and have a lagfix installed so it's not all bad :P

Mine is under 1000, how is it possible to have a score of half yours using the same phone? Also does it really matter?

No it doesn't matter, Quadrant isn't that great for accessing overall performance.

Yeah, but the lag fix was mentioned earlier, I just know that with root only that score averaged out at 980 (3 runs) and then with lag fix went up to 1780, possible reason for score less than 1000.
