Samsung Galaxy Note

About time that vodafone set up a tread dedicated to the note as they have started selling it.

First question - does it come with icecream sandwich? Some sales assistants say it does and some say it does not?

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note

The Note runs on Gingerbread...

Like the Tab, ICS is likely to be a future update

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note

I hada  shot of one a few weeks ago and it is very nice to use - not really sold on size yet, didnt feel right in my jeans pocket - but the s-pen...wow!! we need that level of accuracy and functionality on something like the galaxy Tab, would take it to a whole new level, as i still have to use retro pen/paper when i want to quickly scribble down notes/doodles in a meeting

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note

At the Mobile World Congress this year there was talk of a Galaxy Note 10" Tablet with S-Pen.

I can see that being very popular especially a 3g version.

My Galaxy Note came has the latest Gingerbread 2.3.6 firmware!

If you can't connect your phone to your computer, from a technical skills point of view, should you even be considering a firmware upgrade?

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note

My Galaxy Note came with 2.3.5. Even as I unwrapped the package and was setting it up, it prompted me for an OTA firmware upgrade and it went ahead and upgraded it to 4.0.3.

It was obviously a clean install, as it upgraded right out of the box, but I went ahead and hard reset it anyway.

So far it is worknig fine, without any problems as far as I can see.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note

True, I forgot about the option of upgrading via OTA.

BTW If you have upgrade to ICS, please don't do any more factory resets, until Samsung has fixed the eMMC bug. :smileyhappy:

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note

ics for the note makes a great phone fantastic but now android offer jelly bean 4.1 coming in mid July according to reports. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-18618259 I wonder how long it will take to come to the note :robotwink:
