I'm another person with a Samsung Galaxy Europa receiving multiple copies of texts from an O2 number.  Texts from other networks arrive OK.

I am still having the same issue, with well over 50+ of the same messages being received.

I purchased my phone direct from Samsung - is the suggestion that it's a phone fault and we should exchange our phones??

Hi all,

Both my parents are with O2 and I'm not getting this problem yet, but texts are taking an age to come through. It's got to the point that I'm getting calls because I've not replied to the 'missing' text. I've asked my parents to call O2 customer services to see if there's an issue on that network which maybe having a knock on effect getting messages sent to me. If you're receiving loads of the same text, wouldn't it be a good idea to ask your friends on O2 to give them a ring to have it checked out? If you're asking here about Vodafone, it'd make sense to have O2 checked out as well.

I am having the same problem with Galaxy Europa. Vodafone technical guys told me a couple of weeks ago that a fix would be posted on this forum "very soon". Still nothing and I have to keep my new phone switched off most of the time because of the texts, which defeats the idea of taking out the contract for it. Wish I'd never bothered!

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I've just bought my wife a Samsung Monte yesterday on Vodaphone PAYG and she put her Sim from her old phone in and whenever she receives a text she has the same problem - she gets 3 texts instead of one. I'm on Vodaphone as well and texted her and the same - 3 texts. We tried deleting my contact and adding again but the same problem so just thought I'd share this with the other threads. Let me know if I can try anything or provide further info.

Thank you all for posting. We are currently looking into this issue, but have so far been unable to replicate it. In order to help identify where the problem lies we need to know which network the duplicate messages have been sent from. I notice that a few of you have mentioned O2. Is this happening with any other networks at all?

If you could let me know, then I'll pass the information onto our devices team.

Hi, I think we may have resolved this.

I found another Vodaphone eforum that suggested that the issue could be down to the Sim and the Samsung phone not working together (see link below) i.e. a compatability problem. So my wife took her Sim to the Vodaphone store and they copied all her details, contacts etc from her old Sim to a new replacement Sim. Since then the multiple texts have stopped and she now only gets what is sent.

As it happens I decided to buy a Samsung Monte and did the same thing - I got my existing Vodaphone Pay As You Go Sim copied to a new replacement Sim and I've had no problems with multiple texts.

So I would suggest doing the same and hopefully this will resolve the problem !!

Hey guys

I was completely prepared to keep battling with this problem and looked to take any solutions. I trotted along to a Vodafone store after work one day to get a new SIM. Unfortunately I am not the account holder, so they couldn't do it. That's ok, I can get added easily enough. The account holder called Vodafone to add me to the account so I could go back to the store to get a SIM to stop getting messages. Oh, wait, your systems are down? You can't do anything? Great.

With my phone turned off overnight on the weekend, I turned it back on to receive 45 messages - only 1 of which was new.

Sorry Vodafone, you are driving me nuts. I'm off to join giffgaff.
