Samsung Monte Internet Connection using Wifi

I'm trying to connect my Samsung Monte to my home internet using the WIfi application

Firstly, the password for our home internet is too long to fit in the Network Key space provided unless I change the Key Length from 64 bits to 128 bits. Is that the right thing to do?

Also, it then tries for ages to connect with a message saying "connecting" but fails to connect. After a while, it gives up trying and displays a message saying "disconnected."

Can anyone help please?

Re: Samsung Monte Internet Connection using Wifi

Hi 21cavey

Sorry to see that you haven't been able to connect your phone to your home WiFi.

If you can remove the security from your router and then try and connect, this should indicate that the phone will pick up the WiFi for you.

Can you connect to any free WiFi hotspots?

I have the same issue with the length of password. My cable modem's password is 20 digits but it seems samsung monte only allows 19 digits.

Re: Samsung Monte Internet Connection using Wifi

Hi rgobantes and welcome to the eForum

Thanks for your post here.

I'm afraid to say that there is very little we can do about this as this will be something written into the firmware of your device. The only option would be to change the encryption to something with fewer digits. However, this will then obviously provide less security on your Wi-Fi network.

Thanks
